Every weekend they go to the beach to play football, to swim and to have a picnic. They usually take a bottle of water, a packet of crisps and a sandwich. Their mum always puts the sandwich in silver paper so it s fresh when they eat it. When they are tired, they sit down and have the picnic. When they finish, they throw the empty bottle of water, the empty crisp packet and the silver paper from the sandwich into the sea. Then they go home for supper. Yani lives in a very cold place. Every day he catches fish for his family because they need to eat. He s very sad because he never catches any fish, only empty water bottles, empty crisp packets and silver paper. One day he decides to send a message in a big shell to the people who throw rubbish in the sea. His message says Don t throw your rubbish in the sea, don t throw your rubbish in the sea, put it in the bin, in the bin! The next time Mary and Michael go to the beach, they find the shell and read the message. They decide never to throw rubbish in the sea again so now, when they finish their picnic, they always put their rubbish in the bin.
