Pusa Road Campus Summer Assignment Session 2017-18 Class II This year's Summer Assignment Theme is My Literary World Dear Parents There have long been concerns about the decline of reading, but the fact of the matter is that reading is alive and well with so many wonderful books around us. Reading doesn t happen. It is a behaviour underpinned by skills and attitudes that must be nurtured from a child s earliest years. We need to cultivate the reading habits in children so that reading fires their imaginations and curiosities. This is the time of the year when you get the opportunity to spend more time with your child. Children learn to love books through joyful encounters with interesting books shared with them by enthusiastic adults. So, encourage your child to crack open the books this summer and share the wonder and magic of books through the activities listed for each section that will enable our little ones to have holidays fruitful and exciting.
Please Note: There is a common revision work of English, Hindi, Math and EVS for all the sections including homework for Art, Computer and Music. It is followed by Theme based work for each section. The projects & activities done should be linked with the main theme of the exhibition, through captions & slogans. All the activities done under the theme based work would be displayed in the exhibition to be held on 15 th July, 2017. It is requested that you be the resource person for the child and let the children create things with their imagination. Only facilitate the process of doing the activities and do not do the activities for them. Avoid the use of thermocol and encourage the use of waste paper/ materials for all activities.
