Friday 29th April Issue 2 Price: Free www.damers.dorset.sch.uk The New School! By Charlotte I have been talking to Mrs Smith about the new school and how it is going to be set out. On Tuesday the 12th April lots of children went to the bricklaying ceremony where we found out lots more about the new school building. We discovered It is going to be very big. It is going to have more classrooms than we have ever had. There will be a playing space double the size of the field at our school at the moment. There are going to be different types of outdoor games. Sadly there will be no swimming pool but it will be such a cool new school we won t worry about that! In the next paper I will take more photos and find out more about the new school so keep checking the newspaper for the latest news! Did you know...the new school will be ready next year! Awards Time! What s the deal with the awards? By Hugh This article is all about the awards given out in assemblies like Golden Tickets or the Sport Star of the week award. But the question that everyone is talking about is how do these people get these awards?! Well let me tell you...with sports you have to be good and try your best when working with Mr Stone, Mr Senior and Mrs Thorpe. With the Golden Tickets, students get spotted by their teacher or someone else doing a kind or helpful thing. When you get picked the Headteacher reads out a Golden Ticket for a student and they win a special treat with all the other Golden Ticket winners! But I have not talked about the Magic Manners award. SO WE BETTER GET STARTED. So let s get started. Remember, that Mrs Smith and Mrs Bearwish are on the look out for you being kind and having lovely manners. If they do spot you and pick you, you get a badge like a star. Go on the school website to see more winners and find out more.
