LOGO The NASS logo is a key part of the brand s identity and helps express who we are. The following guidelines will help you reproduce the logo to the highest standards and maintain a strong, consistent visual identity. They include some DOs and DO NOTs...
LOGO DOs DO give the logo enough room to breathe by leaving a clear space between it and any other design elements, or the edges of the page. The clear space is defined by the height of the gap in the letter A of the logo. DO sit the logo over photography, colour backgrounds, or the NASS gradient. If using over photography, try to find an area of the image with less going on, providing a solid background for the logo to sit on. DO try positioning the logo on a join that crosses through the middle of it horizontally. This can be particularly useful when you have a busy image which is difficult to lay text over, as it allows you to split the design into two sections but use the logo to hold them together. DO keep to the recommended minimum widths 40 pixels for digital and 10mm for print. 40px (digital) / 10mm (print)
LOGO DO NOTs DON T DO NOT distort or stretch the logo in any way. When scaling, use the proper linked proportions. DO NOT rotate the logo. DO NOT add drop shadow or glow to the logo. DO NOT cover any of the logo with text or any other elements. DO NOT invert the logo or cut parts out of it. DO NOT crop the logo. DO NOT alter the color of the logo in any way other than those prescribed in these guidelines. DO NOT remove the white stroke from around the logo when placing on any background. DO NOT place the logo over a vertical join. This treatment is to be used on horizontal joins only. DO NOT place the logo over a horizontal join that is off-centre from the logo.
LOGO CO-BRANDING The rules about logo sizes will vary depending on the arrangement, but if it is an equal partnership, the logos should appear as shown. Logos should be sized so they are visually equal, spaced at a comfortable distance (using the guide shown) and centred horizontally with a 1pt black stroke between them (the height of the NASS logo). For any other partnership agreement, please speak to the NASS team.
ICONS The NASS icons provide a simplified graphic expression of the festival s core activities BMXing, skateboarding and music. Whilst the brand and its wider offering have evolved over the years to include much more, these are the original pillars upon which it was built... These icons can be used wherever needed to add a personal touch to designs, or to back up the NASS logo and other design elements. They can be used individually or as a lockup with the tagline ACTION SPORTS & MUSIC FESTIVAL. You will see some examples of usage throughout these guidelines. Please contact the NASS team at nassbrand@visionninegroup.com if you need to use the icons beyond the lockups provided.
ANIMATED STING Logo glitches... We have an animated sting for use in all video content. Much like the static logo, the sting can be placed over background footage or a solid colour....and then settles......into static logo and date lock up.

TYPOGRAPHY Amplitude is a sans-serif typeface that incorporates exaggerated agates (small notches added into letters to compensate for the spread of ink on paper). Deep angled cuts keep the font legible at small sizes, while adding character at display sizes. This gives the official NASS font a bit of edge, whilst remaining professional and legible. NASS uses two versions of Amplitude the Standard version, and a taller / narrower compressed version. Here you will find guidelines for using Amplitude in NASS designs... PHOTOGRAPHY Photography is a key element of NASS visual communication, with a wide variety of shots used, mostly from previous NASS events. Selected imagery from the last few years can be found here: www.nassfestival.com/gallery Where necessary, filters and effects can be used to subtly bring out or add colours from the NASS palette. Please speak to the NASS team if you would like to amend imagery. To be sent a selection of the best shots from recent NASS events, for hi-res or specific image requests, or for more info on any of the effects mentioned, please get in touch with the NASS team at nassbrand@visionninegroup.com
