Performers using this access will disappear from audience view momentarily while they are in the proscenium void. Treads are available to facilitate access from the auditorium directly on to the thrust stage. These units can be used when AA is the front row but require building in and the removal of three seats each side. Mixer Seats The Festival Theatre has default mixing area in the rear of the stalls. In the absence of specific information about mixing areas, the AFC recommends that this area of seating be withheld from sale for auditorium mixing positions. REAR STALLS: Up to 15 seats centre row V (No 17 31) Up to 16 seats centre row W (No 16 31) When a smaller mixing area is required the seat kills should be reduced starting from the centre numbers to keep the audio mixing position central. (Centre being V#24/25 W#24.) Allow 0.5m square per seat e.g. 500mm wide x 1000mm deep) BASS will only hold mixer seats when instructed to do so, on the AFC s Performance Information Form (the fourth schedule of the Theatre Hire Contract) or via written correspondence. Orchestra Pits The elliptical pit lift can be raised to stage level to create a thrust stage or set at stalls level for seating or lowered to create the standard orchestra pit. The orchestra pit lift is an electrically operated hydraulic scissor action lift. Standard Orchestra Pit 17.1mtrs wide x 4.86mtrs total depth to back wall of pit on centre line. Recommended maximum capacity: 40 musicians. The standard pit removes rows AA to DD (a total of 84 seats) from the stalls seating. Large Orchestra Pit 21.70mtrs wide x 7mtrs total depth to back wall of pit on centre line. Recommended maximum capacity: 70 musicians. The large pit removes rows AA to FF (a total of 151 seats) from the stalls seating. NB: The AFC s Performance Information Form (the fourth schedule of the Theatre Hire Contract) must clearly specify the orchestra pit or thrust requirements.
