The 25 plays entered were performed over the entire week-end with 11 of these being youth performances plus a smaller number of 10 minute youth plays and of course junior plays as well. A fun week-end was had by all who attended the festival and adjudicator s results are featured on overleaf. A huge thank you sincerely goes to all who helped behind the scenes whether front of house or backstage. Mousetrap Theatre extends thanks to the office of Yvette D ath for the printing of our newsletter

With appreciation, Mousetrap Theatre extremely thanks the following Government bodies for their generosity in providing monetary support to our popular theatre and the productions presented:- Moreton Bay Regional Council Regional Arts Development Fund $2,000 grant - assistance in the Seussical Jr production Qld Justice Dept Community Benefit Funding Program $30,000 lighting grant - assistance in future Mousetrap Theatre productions The lighting grant application was a joint effort between Preeta Harper, Gordon Heath, John Honey and David Scheiwe. David sourced the lighting equipment to be purchased from an Acacia Ridge company called Light Up My Life and then, with the help of Gordon Heath and Ian Warnett, removed the old lighting and installed the new equipment. In appreciation of the grant, David Scheiwe personally thanked Yvette D arth after the Anzac Day official ceremonies on 25 th April 2018. David advertised the Mousetrap s older lighting equipment via Facebook and was bombarded with enquiries at the time from major amateur theatre groups in and around Redcliffe and the greater Brisbane area. The Theatre s new lighting will have a major impact - from adding comfort to actors on stage, as the heat affect is virtually non-existent, which will assist our air conditioning to be more effective and then in turn have a major impact on future electricity charges. Barnum is the first major production to show the effect of the new lighting, however the new lighting was used in our very recent production of Shall We Dance?.

C O N T A C T L I S T O F SOMETHING FROM KAY JUNE/JULY 2018 Hi Everyone, Here is your newsletter for June and July which encompasses news of an upcoming audition, our next musical production, the results of our recent Drama Festival and other important news. What a week-end the Festival was and how awesome were the performances from the little ones to the senior ones. A big thank you must go to all the volunteers who helped out so much over the week-end either backstage, Front of House, or cooking various tasty food which went down very well. Congratulations to all who made the Festival the success that it was. Also, as the months are going by ever so quickly, please be reminded our AGM will be held on Monday 1 st October 2018. To vote for incoming positions Mousetrap members are required to be financial members. I have been on a go slow in recent months, however will pick up the pace soon, so until next newsletter, it is bye from me.kay President Karen Matthews Ph 0417 759 868 president@mousetraptheatre.asn.au Senior Vice President Ian Warnett Junior Vice President Theresa Kendall Secretary Tanja Stanley secretary@mousetraptheatre.asn.au (Please contact Tanja to book the theatre for rehearsal space or crew meetings) Treasurer John Honey Newsletter Editor Kay Tudhope Ph 0417 738 915 mousetrapnews@gmail.com Wardrobe Fay Richards Ph 0408 019 001 BTS President Barb Wainwright Ph 0421 987 330 Resident Stage Manager Gordon Heath Resident Props Manager Hilary Warnett / Preeta Harper Memberships Glenda Willis Ph 0431 701 474 Publicity Shirley Budinger mousetrappublicity@gmail.com Ticket Sales On-Line Bookings www.mousetraptheatre.asn.au Phone sales 0439 954 719

Mousetrap Theatre s Daytime Players Our esteemed Life Member, Keith Wilson, has put together a steering group of experienced members to develop what we would like to call Mousetrap Theatre s Daytime Players. What does this mean? Many of our members are available to participate in daytime theatre. We would like to put together a once a month daytime rehearsed play reading followed by a get-together in our lovely Green Room. The readings could be a mixture of 10 Minute Plays and short One Act Play. We are in the process of developing this idea and would love to hear from you what you think of the idea and would you be interested in participating as audience or actor!! Please drop and email to or phone Keith and let us know what you think.
