Always turn off the TV and/or component before you connect or dsconnect any cables. Avod audo hum or nterference by postonng cables correctly Insert all cable plugs frmly nto ther jacks. Place the audo/vdeo cables to the sdes of the TV's Back panel nstead of straght down the mddle after you connect your components. Try not to col any twn-lead cables and keep them away from the audo/vdeo cables as much as possble. Make sure all antennas and cables are properly grounded. Refer to the Safety Tps sheet packed wth your TV. Protect your components from overheatng Do not block ventlaton holes n any of Ihe components. Arrange the components so that ar can crculate :freely. Do not stack components. Allow adequate ventlaton when placng your components n a stand. Place an amplfer on the top shelf of the stand so heatted ar rsng from t wll not flow around other components. No stereo sound Connect the three audo and vdeo cables from the component',; outputs to the TV's nputs, then select channel 00 on TV to hear stereo from a stereo component. Press TV/VCFI button on VCR (also called "PV/VCFIswtch). 4. Change channel on TV wth TV's CHANNEl_ buttons. For connectons 3B, 3C: 1. Turn on TV and select channel 00 on TV. 2. Turn on cable box. 3. Turn on VCR and use CHANNEL buttons on VCR to tune the VCR to the output channel of the cable box (usually 02, 03, or 04). 4. select channel to record wth CHANNEL buttons on cable box. 5. Insert tape nto VCR and then press RECORD button on VCR. 6. Change channel on TV wth TV's CHANNEL buttons to vew another channel. The recordng wll not be affected. For connectons 2B and 2C: Pcture-n-Pcture s possble wth these connectons when playng a tape n the VCR. 1. Turn on TV, then turn on cable box to desred channel. 2. Insert tape n VCR and press PLAY. 3. Press the TV/VCR button to return to TV control. 4. Turn on Pcture-n-Pcture feature. 5. Tune TV to channel 00. For all other connectons: 1. Make sure a component such as a VCR or camcorder s connected to the TV's AUDIO and VIDEO IN jacks. 2. Turn on TV to watch one pcture through the GABlE/ANTENNA connector. 3. Turn on component connected to AUDIO IN and VIDEO IN jacks. 4. Tune TV to channel 00 to see the other pcture. For S-Vdeo connecton: Be sure to connect the regular VIDEO cable for p,:ture-n-pcture when you have an S-VHS component connected to the TV wth an S-VHS cable.
