Jones was born in North Waes and in about 775 moved to London where he enjoyed a neary 50-year career as composer, arranger, performer, and teacher. He aso coected rare books, manuscripts and musica instruments. Jones was a proific coector and arranger of meodies and is best remembered for his three-voume work caed Musica and Poetica Reicks of the Wesh Bards (784-802). I have adapted Jones arrangements for meody instrument with ever harp accompaniment. Guitar chords are incuded so that the meody may be payed by any instrument, accompanied by chords on harp, ute, guitar or keyboard. In addition, the meody coud be payed as a harp soo, adding the chords to the eft hand. These airs have been paced in progressive key order to create a satisfying Wesh set that faciitates ever (or peda) changes. This order aso faciitates paying 2-4 tunes in succession as a Wesh medey. A tunes were typeset to fit exacty on two facing pages to eiminate any page turns within a piece. Some meodies were transposed from their origina keys to better suit the range of the fute. Tunes may be taken up the octave where desired, such as on repeated sections. The harp range needed to pay a of the accompaniments in this coection exacty as written is ony 26 strings (-G). There are no ever changes within pieces in this entire coection, ony ever pre-sets. iii
