Step 2: Adjust text size t fit the actual display area Fnt Size Adjust (manually). Use the arrw keys t change the fnt size until entire message displayed prperly in the display area (black bx). Nte that fnt style will change. Nte: Anything utside f the Frame Windw/Display Area will be crpped. Make sure t resize yur entire message t fit the Frame Windw / Display Area. Line Presentatin Functins Line presentatin functins are used t cntrl hw a line f text appears n the display, and hw it exits. These Effects are nrmally applied t a Line in a single frame (Advance Mde). Using the Glbal Effect ptin applies a single effect t all lines in a frame. Applying Effects 1. Click the Effects Windw fr the line f the frame where yu want the effect t apply.! 2. The Line Presentatin Functins windw will pen. 3. In the left, Message In Functins clumn, select an effect; e.g. Frame in << 4. Nw, set the speed f the In effect by clicking n f the numerical buttns labeled Fast > Slw. 1 is fastest, and 9 is slwest. 5. In the right, Message Out Functins clumn select anther effect; e.g. Travel Out<< 6. Nw, set the speed f the Out effect by clicking ne f the numerical buttns. 7. This is hw the text field will lk like. Press OK t prceed. 8. As yu can see, the green text describing the effect is nw next t the line it is applied t, in the Effects bx. Dynamic Text Effects Glbal Effects Glbal Effects applies the same effect t every line in a frame. Click the Glbal Effects buttn. The effect f the first line will be applied t the whle frame. The ther Line Effects bxes will be grayed ut. Using Frames Frames can be added, inserted, r deleted like Adding Frame in Basic Mde using the Menu bar. Menu Frame Add, Insert, Delete, and etc. (See Basic Mde fr mre details). Icns in tl bar can be used fr adding, inserting, r deleting a frame. Add Frame add a frame right after the current frame in the same editing mde. Insert Frame insert a frame in frnt f the current frame in the same editing mde. Delete Frame delete current frame. Select the last Frame, within the Frame Inspectr, by clicking n it. Use the up arrw and click ne. The third item becmes the secnd item. Click again, and it cmes the first. Use the dwn arrw t mve it back dwn the list. Using the Frame Inspectr fr cpying and pasting (duplicating) Frames: Select the Frame yu want t manipulate in the Frame Inspectr. Click the Cpy Frame buttn. Select the frame yu want the cpied Frame t appear after. Click the Paste Frame buttn. The pasted frame appears, but the previusly selected Frame remains selected. Using the Frame Inspectr fr cutting and pasting Frames: Use the sequence fr cpying and pasting (abve), but select the Cut Frame buttn instead. Using the Frame Inspectr fr deleting Frames: Select the Frame yu want t manipulate in the Frame Inspectr. Click the Delete Frame buttn. Yu can als use the keybard shrtcut Ctrl Delete. Using the Frame Inspectr fr deleting multiple Frames: Select the first Frame yu want t manipulate, in the Frame Inspectr. Hld dwn the Ctrl Key n yur keybard, and click n additinal frames yu wish t delete. Click the Delete Frame buttn r use the keybard shrtcut Ctrl Delete. Merging Files Suppse yu have created a nice message, and saved it. Later, yu create a new message, but yu want the frames frm the ld message added n. This is called merging files. Decide where in yur presentatin yu want the merged filed t appear. Select the Frame yu want the new Frames t appear after in the Frame Inspectr. Select Merge frm the File menu. Yu will see a standard Windws Open dialg bx. Navigate t the file yu want t merge, and select it. Click Open The new frames will appear in the Frame Inspectr. Using Frames (cntinued) Imprting Text Advanced Mde allws yu t imprt a text (.txt) file. In the Frame Inspectr, select the Frame yu want the imprted text t appear after Select Imprt Text File frm the File menu. Navigate t the file, select it, and click Open. Each line f text will appear n a line, in a frame. When each frame is FULL a new frame is created and filled, until the entire text file has been added. Ops! T create a schedule: 1. Select Schedule Messages frm the Cmmand menu. 2. This will pen the scheduling winds. 3. Select the New buttn t add a previusly created presentatin t yur schedule. Hw t Send a Schedule Once a schedule has been created, it must be sent t the displays. When yu send the schedule, the previus schedule is verwritten (replaced). Ht Keys The Ht Key bar allws yu t set previusly created presentatins as interrupts. When instructed the Ht Keyed file will interrupts the current schedule, the Ht Keyed presentatin will play, and then the riginal schedule will resume playing. T set a Ht Key file: 1. Select any buttn n the Ht Key bar. This will pen the Ht Key menu fr the selected buttn. 2. Select Setting in the Ht Key menu Only cntent r vide files created thrugh ViViD Cmpser is supprted. 3. Select the Brwse buttn and brwse fr the file yu wuld like t set fr this Ht Key. Then Select the OK buttn. Additinal Optins and Settings Display Brightness Cntrl Yur LED has adjustable Brightness setting. Run the display at apprpriate levels f brightness fr yur envirnment. It will imprve readability, save energy, and make the dides last lnger. Yur display is cmpeting with ther light in the envirnment. During the day, it the display is utdr, r in a windw, the display will have t be bright t cmpensate fr daylight. At night the display can be run at a lwer level. Indrs, the display may run at a mderate level all the time. T access the display brightness settings, pen the Cmmand menu. 1. Set Full Brightness set display brightness 100% f the display s ptential brightness. 2. Set Aut Brightness by Phtcell pht cell brightness aut dim the display brightness based n current ambient lighting cnditins. 3. Set Brightness Level this will bring up the Direct Adjust brightness windw. Changing the level will change the display brightness directly. 4. Setting a Passwrd This limits access t ViViD Message Cmpser fr security. T set the passwrd: 1. Menu Setup Change Passwrd 2. In the Change Lgin Passwrd windw, enter the passwrd in the New Passwrd and Cnfirm Passwrd fields. Warning: Be sure yu remember this passwrd. Either chse n that is memrable r make a nte f it, and secure the nte. A gd passwrd is 6 r mre characters, using bth numbers and letters. Temperature Adjustment The temperature returned by the temperature prbe may drift smewhat frm the actual temperature. T adjust: 1. Menu Cmmand Advanced Cmmand Adjust Temperature 2. Measure the utdr temperature at yur lcatin. 3. If the measured temperature is higher r lwer than the display indicates, enter the difference like this: +2F t add 2 degree Fahrenheit t the temperature displayed n the display. Fahrenheit is adjusted in whle number increments. 3F t subtract 3 degrees frm display. +2.5C t add 2.5 Celsius t the temperature displayed n the display. ViViD Graphic Creatr Intrductin ViViD Graphic Creatr is displayed as a simple way t cnvert and/r create graphic at reslutin suitable t LED displays. ViViD Graphic Creatr files can then be imprted int ViViD Message Cmpser where they can be mixed with text. T pen prgram: Menu Lg ViViD Graphic Creatr (r File ViViD Graphic Creatr) 5 Tip: 6 3 2 1 This prgram can als be pened in the ViViD Message Cmpser Lg Graphic Creatr. Nte: Graphic Creatr will use the Sign End prperties frm Message Cmpser. If the sign is setup as 24x72 RGB, Creatr will be pened with that setup. 4 Interface Overview 1. The Frame Wrkspace is where yu draw graphics and animatins 2. Frame Preview shws a thumbnail f each frame 3. The Crdinates shw the current muse pinter psitin; the X and Y crdinate n the frame. The crdinate changes as yu mve yur muse. 4. Click n any clr in the Clr Pallet t change the current clr f the drawing. 5. The Tlbar hlds the tls yu will use t create and manipulate graphics. 6. Setting Display Size Graphic Creatr is designed t grab the Sign Setup prperties as its animatins/image size. This size can be changed. While creating animatin, it is imprtant t keep the size f yur display in mind. Are yu ging t run yur animatin in line with yur text? Hw large will the text be? Are yu ging t span multiple Frame Rws, r the Fix Frame feature? T resize: 1. Right muse click n the Wrkspace (the grid area). 2. Select Resize. The Image Size windw will appear. 3. Drawing Using the Tlbar The Tlbar cntains the tls t draw lines, circles, ellipses, text, and custm shapes. It als includes a rubber stamp tl. Tls: The Line Tl allws yu t create straight lines n the Frame Wrkspace. The Circle Tl allws yu t draw utlines f circles in the Frame Wrkspace. Click Circle Tl first. Then, in the Frame Wrkspace, left click and drag the muse until yu have the circle f the desired shape and size. The Ellipse Tl allws yu t draw utlines f ellipses in the Frame Wrkspace. Click Ellipses first. Then, in the Frame Wrkspace, left click and drag the muse until yu have the ellipses f the desired shape and size. The Bx Tl enables yu t draw rectangles in the Frame Wrkspace. Click bx, then left click and drag in the Frame Wrkspace t draw the rectangle f the desired shape and size. The Fill Tl allws yu t fill in an enclsed area with a selected clr. The Edit Tl allws yu t make a selectin in the Frame Wrkspace. Click Edit, then click and drag the muse arund the area yu want t select. The Eraser Tl. Click the Eraser and drag thrugh the area yu want t erase. The pixels f the selected area are returned t black. The Pen Tl allws yu t make freehand drawings. Using Stamp Tl The Stamp Tl is a tl that allws yu t chse frm a wide selectin f pictures frm the stamp tlbar as shwn belw. Yu can use the selected stamp and click n the Frame Wrkspace t stamp an image. After yu click the Stamp Tl, a stamp ptin will be shwn. The Default buttn allws yu t chse the stamp file that cntains the stamp images. The Opaque check bx lets yu chse whether r nt the stamp image is paque r transparent. If the Opaque check bx is unchecked, the amber clr f the icn will becme transparent. The Stamp Images can be resized by using the + and buttns.
