5) Revision of Dry Packing Note Moisture-sensitive product is packed in a dry bag containing desiccant and a humidity card. Regarding dry pack you will find further information in the internet and in the Short Form Catalog in chapter Tape and Reel under the topic Dry Pack. Here you will also find the normative references like JEDEC. Moisture-sensitive product is packed in a dry bag containing desiccant and a humidity card according JEDEC-STD- 033C. Reason: Included JEDEC-STD-033C reference in the Datasheet No change of dry packing specification Product affected: All dry packed OS Products 9 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
6) Specification of Reverse Characteristics of Devices Not designed for Reverse operation Specification of Reverse Voltage Specification for Reverse Current Reverse characteristics of possible ESD device Reverse Operation of 10 hours is permissible in total. Continuous Reverse Operation is not allowed. Reason: Benefit for the customer to have more information of the reverse characteristic. Product affected: all OS Products except General Lighting 10 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
6) Specification of Reverse Characteristics of Devices Examples for some devices: LW TVSG.BB LUW CEUN.CE LA T676 Reverse voltage V R (V R Based on Device Solderpads) Max. 1.2 V (I R = 20 ma) Max. 1.2 V (I R = 20 ma) 12 V (Max. Rating) Reverse voltage V R ESD (ESD device only) Min. 5 V (I R ESD = 5 ma) Min. 45 V (I R ESD = 5 ma) n.a. Reverse current I R 200 ma (Max. Rating) 200 ma (Max. Rating) Typ. 0.01 µa Max. 10 µa (V R = 12 V) 11 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
7) Introduction of Corrosion Classes Corrosion robustness: few information of corrosion robustness, test condition and recommendation for atmosphere of production and use. Specification of corrosion classes and grades A & B. See details on next page. (e.g. Test conditions: 40 C/90% r.h. / 15ppm H 2 S/336h=stricter than IEC 60068-2-43 (H 2 S) [25 C/75% r.h./10ppm H 2 S/21 days] =Regarding relevant gas (H 2 S) stricter than EN 60068-2-60 (method 4) [25 C/75% rh/200ppb SO 2, 200ppb NO 2, 10ppb Cl 2 /21 days]) (e.g. classification as grade 3B which stands for testing 40 C / 90 % r.h. / 15 ppm H 2 S / 14 days (stricter than IEC 60068-2-43) where discoloration is allowed) Reason: To ensure a clearer structure and a higher benefit for the customer. Product affected: All packaged OS products. 12 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
7) Introduction of Corrosion Classes OS Corrosion Class Grade A Grade B n.a. discoloration 0 None possible 25 C / 75 % RH / 200ppb SO 2, 200ppb NO 2, 10ppb H 2 S, 10ppb Cl 2 / 1 2 21 days (EN 60068-2-60 (Method 4)) 25 C / 75 % RH / 10 ppm H 2 S / 21 days (IEC 60068-2-43) No visible discoloration (Microscope: 50x magnification) discoloration possible (Microscope: 50x magnification) 3 40 C / 90 % RH / 15 ppm H 2 S / 14 days (stricter then IEC 60068-2-43) Grade A: Subcomponents of this LED contain, in addition to other substances, metal filled materials. Metal filled materials can be affected by environments that contain traces of aggressive substances. Therefore, we recommend that customers minimize LED exposure to aggressive substances during storage, production, and use. Grade B: Subcomponents of this LED contain, in addition to other substances, metal filled materials including silver. Metal filled materials can be affected by environments that contain traces of aggressive substances. Therefore, we recommend that customers minimize LED exposure to aggressive substances during storage, production, and use. LEDs that showed visible discoloration when tested using the described tests above did show no performance deviations within failure limits during the stated test duration. Respective failure limits are described in the IEC 60810. 13 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
8) Correction of Laser Classification Some IRED products do not have any eye safety classification acc. to IEC 62471 in product datasheet. Some IRED products are wrongly classified and labelled as laser class 1M, 3R or 3B (according to IEC 60825). SFH 4735, SFH 4735 E9603, SFH 4736, SFH 4736 E9603: Get eye safety class Moderate Risk (RG2) according to IEC 62471. All other IRED products get eye safety class N (0 - Exempt group) according to IEC 62471. Labeling on packing will change accordingly Notes: Laser classes defined for Laser products will not be changed. All pure detector products (without IRED component): No eye safety classification needed Product affected: all packaged OS IRED products 14 OS-IN-2017-032 15.08.2017
