RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) Brief Description of Activity 1 Internship Programs Throughout this reporting period, our SEU hosted two interns from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) & James River High School to assist with social media initiatives. Supervised by our Social Media Manager, our social media interns provided support for social media and digital content creation, as well as community engagement events. During the Fall of20l5, our SEU hosted an intern from Regent University who was mentored by our V A Currents Producer/Director. The student intern helped transcribe field video footage, logged content, helped write scripts, participated in field shoots and even oversaw a few studio segment sessions. During the Winter of20l6, our SEU hosted an intern from James River High School who assisted our FM Public Affairs Associate, and our FM AnnouncerlNews Producer. The FM Announcer/ News Producer taught the intern how to select stories and re-write copy from Associated Press and the Times Dispatch for broadcast. Additionally, the intern worked with the FM Public Affairs Associate to help write and edit Artsline. P a gels of6

Type of Recruitment Initiative (Menu Selection) Brief Description of Activity 2 Host events/programs for or on behalf of an During this reporting period, SEU personnel gave educational institution relating to careers in station tours and/or hosted job shadows for students broadcasting from local educational institutions. During each of these tours, SEU personnel answered questions about public broadcasting and the various career opportunities available in the broadcast industry. 'On June 3, 2015, our Director of Programming gave a tour to a group of students from Gloucester High School who were filmmakers-in-training. 'On October 31,2015, our Major Gifts Officer gave tours to 275 children and adults who visited the SEU for Curious George's Halloween BooFest event. Various SEU employees were available to answer questions. 'On November 18,2015, our Director of TV Programming gave a group of students from the University of Richmond a tour of our facilities. 'In February 2016, during Junior Work week, our Senior Graphic Designer had a student from James River High School shadow her for a week. The student also shadowed the Social Media Manager and one of our Producers/Directors for a portion of that week. 'On February 24, 2016, our Director of TV Programm ing gave a tour to a group of students the communications class at the Richmond Academy. 'On Apri l 18, 2016, our Producer/Director gave a tour to a group of students in a Video Production class of a Performing Arts course at Richmond CenterStage. 'On May l, 2016, our acting President/CEO (VP of FM), and VP of Development conducted tours for 1,640 children and adults who visited the SEU for the Explore the Outdoors Event. RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY 1 Internship Programs Throughout this reporting period, our SEU hosted two interns to assist with Science Matters ("SM") programming initiatives. Supervised by our SM Project Manager, our SM interns researched and wrote articles for the SM website, promoted SM and SM's Facebook page through social media and served as SM ambassadors at community events. Also during this reporting period, students from the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Communications and the VCU Capital News Service trained with our Capital News Bureau. During the Fall/Winter 2014-2015, our SEU hosted a student from James River High School who was mentored by our Reporter/FM Producer, FM Public Affairs Associate, and our FM Producer of our V A Currents show. The FM Producer worked with the intern to produce a radio feature-length story about "Living in a Food Dessert." During Winter/Spring 2014-2015, our SEU hosted a student from Virginia Commonwealth University, who worked with our TV production team. He observed and assisted with the production of the live and taped studio shows in our Sesame Street studio and our Capital Studio locations. Page 5 of7

RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY 2 Host events/programs for or on behalf of a During this reporting period, the following SEU personnel community organization or an educational conducted station tours and/or hosted job shadows for institution relating to careers in broadcasting students from local educational institutions. During each of these tours, SEU personnel answered questions about public broadcasting and careers in the broadcast industry. On October 16,2014, our Director of Programming gave a tour to participants in the National PBS Kids Writers Contest ranging in age from 8 to Senior Citizens. On February 13,2015, our YP/General Manager of CY A Radio gave a tour to a teacher and student from the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center - School of Education at YCU. On February 16,2015, our President/CEO, YP of Development and Major Gifts Officer gave a tour to the Richmond Area Mensa organization. On March 25, 2015, our Director ofty Programming, Radio Production Manager, and an FM Announcer/Technology Manager gave a tour to a group of students from Goochland Middle School. On April8, 2015, our DirectorofTY Programming gave a tour to a group of students from the Sacred Heart Center for College and Career Bound Program. On April 19,2015, our President/CEO, and YP of Development gave tours to 1,000 children and adults who were at the station for the Explore the Outdoors Event.
