BLACK HISTORY MONTH Programme of Events Black History Month Cheltenham @BHMChelt

We can learn to see each other and see ourselves in each other and recognize that human beings are more alike than we are unalike. Maya Angelou 2 BLACK HISTORY MONTH CHELTENHAM

WELCOME History is a story written from the writer s point of view. It gives us our identity and sense of belonging, making it an integral part of our lives. Black and Minority Ethnic communities have not always had the opportunities to share their stories and experiences. They have lived feeling isolated from their history and identity. Through Black History Month Cheltenham, we acknowledge that our diverse history is something to be shared and glorified! Diversity in our society is a reality. It is from the choices of individuals, communities, organisations and businesses that we can collectively make the change needed to bring cohesion to our society. We are therefore thankful to all our partnership organisations for all their support, and believe that by continuing to work together we can make the difference in history that reflects who we are and who we want to be.
