Beginning ith the toll of the shis bell in tribute to those that that lost their lives on that fateful day, the beautiful hymn follos in a solemn and reverent setting. The shi s bell returns during the final amen and tolls into the distance reminding us of the incredible sacrifices of our Greatest Generation. NOTES TO CONDCTOR The shi s bell (or chimes) should be laced for otimum audio resence. If a true shi s bell is used, lease stage the instrument for visual imact as ell. The hymn should be as as ossible. Deending uon the ensemble and erformance setting, feel free to interret as rubato as you feel aroriate. Strive for ensemble balance throughout. I have scored the hymn to be as arm and lush as ossible. lease note the dynamic shaing as the hymn concludes ith the IV-1 amen harmonic resolution.
