An Idiom a Day Will Help Keep the Boredom In Schooling Away #1 What are idioms? Dictionary A- noun- form of expression peculiar to one language; dialect Dictionary B- noun- A form of expression whose understood meaning is not expressed by the exact meanings of the individual words, as to get along with; the language peculiar to a people; a variety or form of a language; a dialect; the individual terminology or manner of expression characteristic of a certain group, profession, or the like. There are 180 lessons provided, which will allow you to use one a day to help keep the boredom in schooling away. This should be a fun time of the day, where the children laugh and joke about the idiom, and their perception of what it means. 1. Have the students draw a picture of what these words should mean together beside A. 2. You can either have your students look up the idioms meaning, or you can provide it to them after they have drawn their drawings for item A. 3. Have them write a sentence using the idiom appropriately on the lines provided. 4. Now have them draw a picture using the sentence they wrote, and the actual meaning of the idiom beside
