2 Part 1 You will hear people talking in eight different situations. For questions 1 8, choose the best answer (, or ). 1 You hear a young woman talking about her job as a trainee photographer. What does she say about the training she has received? It is more expensive than a university course. She is being trained by some famous photographers. She has saved time by not going to university. 2 You hear a man giving a talk on the radio about an exhibition of paintings by a ritish painter called Lowry. He says the exhibition shows what influenced the way Lowry painted. what Lowry s everyday life was like. what people in Lowry s hometown thought of his work. 3 You hear a woman talking on the radio about dance as a form of exercise. What does she say about how dance has benefited her? It has helped her swim faster. It has made her feel happier at work. It has improved her balance. 4 You hear an author talking about a book he is writing. What does he say about the book? He hopes it will be as popular as the last one he wrote. He is finding it hard to decide how the story will end. He spent longer writing it than he had expected.

4 Part 2 You will hear a student called Lucy rown talking about her experience of volunteering with dolphins in ustralia. For questions 9 18, complete the sentences with a word or short phrase. Volunteering with dolphins at Monkey Mia, ustralia Lucy was studying (9) at university when she went to ustralia on holiday. Lucy first found out about volunteering with dolphins from her (10). I didn t think of a fashion course until it was suggested to me. I was told this course would be easier than other courses. Speaker 1 I never considered doing anything else.
