About the Music - - - Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithul) was introduced to the world circa 1743 and to date, endures as one o our most cherished Christmas carols. This owerul setting or concert band encomasses the majesty and reose o the original long-standing seasonal masteriece and romises a gratiying listening exerience. The work begins quite intreidly and quickly settles into a soothing chorale layed by the woodwinds. Ater a brie moment o mystery, the music takes on a brighter ast temo and continues to a grand climax. Perormance suggestions - - - The introduction should be layed crisly with a bounce style. In contrast, the section at measure 11 is smooth and lowing. Please stress the imortance o great tone quality and air low to achieve a rich, resonant sound. Measure 35 to the end is very grand in nature. Dynamics should be strictly adhered to, and care must be taken to not overlay. The ercussion arts contribute greatly to the character o the erormance and should be tasteully layed at all times. About the Comoser - - - William Owens (b. 1963) is a native o Gary, Indiana.
