Girls Soccer off to a Great Start by Marielle Bersalona Tell me about your experience as a soccer player. I started playing soccer at a very young age because my older brother and sister played and I wanted to be just like them. I was on my first rec team when I was five, travel team when I was eight, and then continued playing through college at Monmouth University. How do you think the season is going so far? The seasons going very well. The girls are enthusiastic and hard working. Everyone from our sixth graders to our eighth graders contribute each game. Right now we are three and three and we are looking forward to some more wins. This year, the girls have to play and practice at the army base does that affect anything? It s exciting that our home fields is being worked on and we look forward to next season on our beautiful new pitch. But for the time being we are happy to have a home field at the army camp. The girls have been doing a great job getting themselves there on time and it s going just fine.
