MINUTES CABLE COMMITTEE OCTOBER 3, 2012 Chairperson Bev Mueller called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Members present were Dennis Zimmerman, Marv Niedan, Brett Bungum, Renee Eckerly, City Administrator; and Ashley Alsum, Cable Coordinator. Harry Thielen was absent. WELCOME Motion was made by Zimmerman to approve the minutes of the April 4, 2012 Cable Committee meeting. Seconded by Niedan and unanimously carried. Ashley Alsum introduced herself. Alsum will also be working on the Facebook account for the City. OPERATING RULES FOR ACCESS CHANNEL Eckerly reported that the major change is the word "tape" to "DVD". There was some discussion on 3C and the 2 hour limit. There was also some discussion on issues with the posting of announcements. OTHER Motion was made by Niedan to accept the revised Operating Rules for Access Channel and recommend such to the City Council. Seconded by Zimmerman and unanimously carried. The Committee discussed the status of equipment and the providers Windstream and Mediacom. It was noted that the April meeting should not be scheduled near the Easter Holiday. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:22 p.m.

Paynesville, MN 56362-1697 Dear Franchise Authority: Due to increases in the cost of programming, Windstream will be making some adjustments in the cable TV rate schedules for customers in the Lakedale and Big Lake service areas effective January 1, 2013. The following channel packages are changing and their new monthly recurring rates are: Starz/Encore Combo $11.95; StarziEncore $9; Enhanced Digital $58; Enhanced Digital Plus $62; Enhanced Digital Ultra $62; Expanded Basic Digital $48; Total Digital $84; Basic Connection $36.45; Broadcast Connection $17; Expanded Connection $54; HBD $15; Cinemax $9. ShowtimelTMC $11; Totally Digital (Bus) will increase by $4; Totally Digital (Res) will increase by $2.05. Additional packages that will increase by $2 are: Enhanced Digital; Enhanced Digital Plus Basic; Expanded; Enhanced Digital Ultra; Expanded Basic Digital; and Basic Connection. Customers are being notified of the changes by a message in their next bill.
