Catalog 1. Ozanam., Jacques. METHODE DE LEVER LES PLANS. Paris: Chez Charles-Antoine Jombert, 1755. Full-Leather. Near Fine. Rebound in calf. (xii), 215, (1) pages, 14 folding engraved plates. This is an uncommon surveying and map making book illustrated with fourteen plates showing various surveying instruments. There are several chapters on mapping the sea. Jacques Ozanam was a French Mathematician who was best known for his book Recreations, a book on mathematical recreations. He was also interested in cartography and military engineering and wrote many works on science and applications of mathematics including Methode de lever les plans et les cartes de terre et de mer originally published in 1691. This copy has been lovingly rebound in calf. Including new endpapers reproducing the originals. Very Good +. Full Calf. $500.00

A minor rock star, his band, Ron Haydock & the Boppers was sometimes compared to Elvis Presley. He was also an actor in several "B" movies. This major work by Vaalerianus (Treatise on Ancient Symbols) was originally published in 1556 and went through many editions. Contains about 337 woodcut illustrations. Very Good sans dust jacket. Binding good and tight. With 32 color illustrations and 33 black and white illustrations by Lansing Campbell. No date on the title page. Copyright page dated 1922 and 1924. 217 pages. Garis wrote an unbelievable 6 stories a week for more than 40 years. Uncle Wiggily was one of the most well known literary characters of the 20th century. Former owner's signature on front flyleaf.
