Classes, Workshops, and Intensives All courses to take place at the Collier Creative Center (50 N. Fir St., Medford) COURSE DESCRIPTIONS ONE-DAY WORKSHOP: AUDITIONING TECHNIQUES Taught by Andrea Hochkeppel Saturday, September 15th Ages 9-13 = 9:00am-12:00pm Ages 14-19 = 2:00pm-5:00pm This workshop, offered in two sessions based on age, is perfect preparation for TMTO s upcoming auditions for Willy Wonka and Newsies, in addition to preparing you for auditions outside of TMTO. Students will learn about what to wear to auditions, how to choose appropriate audition material, behind-the-scenes knowledge about casting, and more. Students will also receive personalized coaching on their audition materials! All performers will benefit from learning tricks of the trade regarding audition preparation. MUSICAL THEATER EXPLORATION For Ages 7 12 Taught by Andrea Hochkeppel Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (2 weeks), This class will focus on the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing for young performers. Students will learn theater/acting games and exercises, group songs, and dance movement, as they learn about what it takes to become a triple-threat! INTERMEDIATE TAP Taught by Cailey McCandless; ages 12-19 Tuesdays (5 weeks), This tap class will be geared toward students who ve taken beginning tap classes, and who wish to continue to improve their tap abilities! This class will build upon the basics of tap and will expand into new explorations of the dance form. *Tap shoes required* 1 of 7

Fir St., Medford) COURSE DESCRIPTIONS ADVANCED TAP Taught by Cailey McCandless; ages 14-19 *Must receive approval from instructor before registering; email tmtoregon@gmail.com* Thursdays (5 weeks), Join us for an advanced tap class! This course will feature warm-up exercises designed to improve speed and dexterity, and emphasis will be placed on learning fun, fast tap choreography. Tap shoes are required, and it is recommended that students have at least 3 years of tap experience. Class is taught at a fast pace, and tappers must already have very solid tap abilities. MUSICAL THEATER DANCE AND TECHNIQUE For Ages 12-19 Taught by Andrea Hochkeppel and Cailey McCandless Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays (5 weeks), (on Sept. 24, time changes to ) This class will focus on the fundamentals of dance, and will be great preparation for those wishing to perform in featured dance roles in TMTO s upcoming musicals. By using music from famous Broadway musicals, you will gain greater understanding of musicality, coordination, technique, terminology, and strength as they relate to dance. This course will be appropriate for all levels of dance ability from those who ve never taken a dance class before to those with more extensive dance training! Previous classes learned choreography to Hamilton, Mamma Mia, Sister Act, Mary Poppins, and more. 2 of 7

INSTRUCTOR BIOS ANDREA HOCHKEPPEL Auditioning Techniques Workshop, Musical Theater Dance and Techniques, Musical Theater Exploration Andrea has performed around the country and around the world as a musical theater performer. Most recently, she starred as Nemo in Walt Disney World s Finding Nemo: The Musical. Other credits include: Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (Featured Singer; Brilliance of the Seas), Theatreworks USA s tour of Junie B. Jones the Musical (Junie B. Jones), Next Stage Repertory (The Odd Couple, Next to Normal). Andrea directed TMTO s 2017 productions of Seussical the Musical and The Will Rogers Follies, and she directed and choreographed TMTO s Miracle on 34 th Street in 2013. Andrea holds a BA in Theater with a Musical Theater Certificate and Dance Minor from Northwestern University and is a proud Actors Equity member. She teaches performing arts classes at St. Mary s School and offers voice, musical theater, and acting lessons through her private studio; www.andreahochkeppel.com. CAILEY McCANDLESS Intermediate Tap, Advanced Tap, Musical Theater Dance and Techniques Cailey is the Program Manager for TMTO. She has been choreographing musical theater for 14 years and has choreographed dozens of shows for TMTO, in addition to working with most other local theater companies in the Valley. She has been tapping for over 20 years and has received recognition for her tap choreography in Chicago dance festivals. This summer, Cailey choreographed TMTO s production of Aladdin Jr. and associate-directed Joseph Dreamcoat. Cailey received a BA in Theater with emphases in Stage Management and Musical Theater Choreography as well as a Dance minor from Northwestern University. Cailey has worked for Cirque du Soleil, Walt Disney World, Northwestern University, and other organizations around the country. 3 of 7

PRICES Registration is open until the first session of each class. Apply for scholarships by completing a Scholarship Application and submitting it no less than 10 days before the first class. CLASS EXPECTATIONS AND POLICIES We intend to run our classes similarly to our rehearsal processes: efficiently, professionally, and with a spirit of fun! We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to our behavior policies and class expectations. The use of alcohol, drugs, or smoking is prohibited. Weapons are not allowed on TMTO premises. Violations will result in dismissal from the program. Be respectful of your instructors and fellow classmates. In order to learn, we must try new things and risk being vulnerable. Our classes are safe places to grow as artists! Disruptive and/or disrespectful behavior is grounds for dismissal from the class. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying. Be mindful of others personal space, as well as our class space. Please clean up after yourself. Be aware of your language and conversation topics, especially around our younger students. Remain at the class location for the duration of your session, unless otherwise specified by the Instructor. Bring snacks/water with you, as you will not be able to leave to get food. While in class, please stay focused and keep talking to a minimum we want you to have fun with your friends, but we also want to make good progress! Cell phones must be turned off and put away during class. Classes will not be open for parents to watch, unless otherwise specified by the instructor. Thank you in advance for understanding. Refunds will only be offered if the class must be canceled due to lack of registrants. Makeup classes will not be offered due to illness or emergencies. Students will be expected to wear appropriate attire for class: close-toed shoes (no sandals, flip-flops, bare feet), clothes they can move in freely, etc. No bare midriffs or revealing clothing. 7 of 7
