SUMMAR Included in this document are the format and submission guidelines for providing metadata and additional assets to APM Music. Please direct any inquiries to metadata@apmmusic.com 3

METADATA FILE FORMAT The Metadata File can be type CSV, XLSX or XLSM. There should be one separate, unique file for each separate album/cd. All column headers A-CQ are required and used for validation. A single album s metadata file can be re-submitted to update changes to CD Description, Track Description and Facets. Additional tracks to existing releases should be submitted in a new, complete metadata file. Changes to titles/entitled parties on any track must be listed or highlighted specifically and will be manually reviewed. 4

If there are 2 or more CDs, the additional CDs are indicated with a /2, /3, etc. APM-7 B CD TITLE. All CD titles should be in proper case. Proper case means that all words are first-letter capitalized. 2. Do not use carriage returns or line feeds in titles. 3. Spell-check all titles. 4. Please note that the CD Description has a maximum field length of 25. 4. Spell-check all descriptions. 5. Replace occurrences of double spacing, if possible (two blank spaces instead of one). 6. Do not begin a description with a form of punctuation, space, or any character other than a letter or a number. 7. Do not put related CDs in CD description. Sub-Index is or 2 digit number (with no preceding zeros). The Sub-Index starts at the number 2 (the main track does not have the Sub-Index of ). Number F SONG TITLE Song is defined as a unique title/composition with distinct composers and composers shares. The Song Title field entry should remain exactly the same for each additional row that may contain different versions of the same song (denoted by the following column Track Title). All separate Track Title rows sharing a unique Song Title will be considered versions of the Song.. All song titles should be in upper and lower case, not all upper case. Over ou G 5

Main Track = means that this track is the most fully realized version of the song. Only TRACK TITLE (version) within a distinct SONG TITLE on a distinct CD ID (album) can be selected as MAIN TRACK =. Version description. Do not use or to emphasize or highlighted items in descriptions, use upper case instead. 2. Do not use carriage returns or line feeds in descriptions. 3. The field has a maximum length of 5 characters. 4. Describe the track for display on the search results grid. 5. Do not reference any other version in this description. (example: like main version but without vocals) 6. Spell-check all descriptions. 7. Replace occurrences of double (two blank spaces instead of one) spacing if possible. 8. If the track is a Remix of a separate song, please reference the original source cue in the track description. APM FACET SELECTION GUIDELINES All bold Facets are required. Please note: ) you must submit unique tags appropriate to each individual track; do not submit the same tags for every track on an album unless appropriate; 2) if you attempt to submit more or less than the maximum or minimum, you will receive a validation error and must modify your entry; and 3) if no entry is made; then will be implied unless it conflicts with a minimum requirement. # FACET MIN MAX INSTRUCTIONS GUIDELINES MASTER GENRE ou must select only one (). Please note, your Master Genre could be a main or sub-genre; i.e., Pop or Tween (Pop > Tween). 2 ADDITIONAL GENRE 7 ou may select up to seven (7). 3 TRACK TPE Select by Type that is most representative of track regardless whether track is Main or not. Note: only TRACK TITLE (version) a. Main - The fullest version of the song, meaning the original version of the track containing all of the song s components. Only TRACK TITLE (version) within a distinct SONG TITLE on a distinct CD ID (album) can be selected as Facet TRACK TPE = Main. If a track is of cut-down length; i.e., :3/:6 but is still the most fully realized version of the track, it is still a Main. This is to accommodate albums with commercial length only tracks. b. Underscore - The track without any lead vocal or instrumental melodic line but with the other rhythmic and harmonic elements in place. c. Alternate - A different rendition of the main track, including but not limited to shorter duration cut-downs (ie 6s and 3s) and tracks that leave out certain elements or substitute one lead instrument for another (e.g. clarinet instead of voice, guitar instead of piano). Unless otherwise noted, an alternate version will usually be the same tempo and key as the original main track. Often described as instrumental version when it retains the melodic line if the Main track was a vocal. d. Link - A short transitional version of the song, usually no longer than 5 seconds. e. Sting - A short musical accent derived from the song, usually no longer than 7 seconds. 4 MUSIC FOR 8 ou must select at least one () and no more than eight (8). 5 TRAILER TRACK Traditional trailer music refers to a cinematic, orchestral score that typically contains a three-act structure (Introduction, Development and Backend,) ideal for the promotion of a film. It creates tension and excitement or attracts curiosity; accommodates multiple and quick cuts on the screen; and escalates to a climax. Styles other than orchestral (orchestral hybrid; rock; industrial) can also be tagged as a Trailer Track if they are also written to follow the Any library submissions tagged as Trailer will go through the Trailer Team review process. By default, Trailer Track is unchecked which indicates that the 9

Additional acceptable releases to be tagged as a Trailer Track include: back end releases (e.g. the isolated third act of the trailer cue); trailer-specific sound design releases (hits, rises, drones, etc.); and percussive releases that are meant for trailer use. Though often used in trailers, genres such as pop, rock, folk, hip-hop, classical music, etc., typically do not follow the above-described structure and should not be tagged as a Trailer Track. track is not a trailer track.please note: If a track does not fit within the guidelines set forth by APM, it will be removed from the trailer section. 6 MOOD 2 ou must select at least one () and no more than twenty (2). Please note, over-tagging of tracks will cause them to be pushed lower in the results. As a result, please be as precise and efficient with your selections as possible as to ensure your track will rise to the top when most relevant. 7 CHARACTER 5 ou may select up to five (5). 8 MOVEMENT 5 ou may select up to five (5). 9 TEMPO ou may select up to one (). Please note: If you do not indicate a tempo, it will be assigned by APM if possible using a BPM algorithm program. For tracks with multiple tempos, select the predominant one, and include the specific tempo information in your track description. Also tag track as Movement > Irregular > Tempo Changes. INST/VOCAL GROUPINGS 4 ou may select up to four (4). This cannot be selected in conjunction with SOLO. INSTRUMENTS 8 ou may select up to eight (8). ou may select no more than one () if SOLO is also selected, and if you do pick SOLO, the entire track must be a single, unaccompanied instrument. 2 VOCALS 5 ou may select up to five (5). ou may select no more than one () if SOLO is also selected, and if you do pick SOLO, the entire track must be a single, unaccompanied voice. 3 SOLO Check Solo when the track consists solely of a single, unaccompanied Voice, Instrument or Sound Effect. The referenced Instrument, Voice or Sound Effect music also be selected. By default Solo is unchecked which indicates that the track is not a solo track.

# FACET MIN MAX INSTRUCTIONS GUIDELINES 4 AMATEUR/ POORL PLAED 5 7 SOUND EFFECTS 6 COUNTR & 5 REGION NATIONAL ANTHEM 5 ou may select up to five (5). ou may select no more than one () if SOLO is also selected, and if you do pick SOLO, the entire track must be a single, unaccompanied sound effect. If Sound Effects SOLO, track must also be tagged Genre > Sound Effects/ Atmospheres. ou may select up to five (5). Check National Anthem when the track is the national anthem of a country. 8 MUSICAL FORM 2 ou may select up to two (2). 2 VINTAGE STLE 2 ARCHIVAL RECORDING 22 HAS LRICS Check Vintage Style for a recording with an authentic sound of the period, i.e., either an authentic archival recording or a current-day reproduction with an archival sound. Current day re-productions should not be tagged as Archival Recording. Check Archival Recording for an authentic recording from the specified time period. If you tag a track as Archival Recording, you should also check Vintage Style, since the recording has an authentic period sound. Check Has Lyrics to indicate that there are spoken or sung words in any language. For Ireland, Korea & Vietnam - indicate North or South if known, otherwise, just tag for Ireland, Korea or Vietnam. Must also indicate relevant country under Country & Region. National Anthem should be tagged regardless of whether this is the current or historical anthem for the referenced country. By default National Anthem is unchecked which indicates that the track is not a national anthem. ou must include at the beginning of the track description if this is an alternate or historical (i.e., not current) anthem for the country. 9 TIME PERIOD 3 ou may select up to three (3). If selecting multiple time periods, they should be contiguous. By default Vintage Style is unchecked which indicates that the track is not of vintage style. By default Archival Recording is unchecked which indicates that the track is not an archival recording. ou must provide the Lyric text using our submission format in the original language and translated into English if needed.

# FACET MIN MAX INSTRUCTIONS GUIDELINES 23 LRIC SUBJECT 3 24 ARTIST DRIVEN 25 WELL-KNOWN TUNE ou may select up to three (3) subjects relevant to the lyrics. Check Artist Driven when a track is a contemporary work by an artist (i.e., singersongwriter or band whose main musical career/body of work is outside of the library world.) Check Well-known Tune to indicate that the track is generally recognizable to most people. The artist name must be included in the metadata file. The track must be contemporary popular music (i.e., rock, pop, hip hop, electronic, etc.). Any library submissions tagged as Artist Driven will go through the Music Team review process. If a track does not fit within the guidelines set forth by APM, it will not appear in the Artist-Driven section. If the track is associated with a specific country, (example: The Marseillase = France) please tag with relevant country. Classical tracks should only be tagged Well-Known if they would be generally recognizable to most people. If the Track Title is different than the common title, the common title should be included in the Description. 2
