Installation a b Clean the area in order to achieve good electrical conductivity between the counter frame and the inside of the structure. Route the cable through the compression rubber and front plate. Install the back plate and the EMC plate inside the cabinet. For openable frames, install the back plate and the EMC plate around the cables inside the cabinet. Mark where the outer jacket is to be removed to fit the conductive tape position (min mm). Cut and remove the outer jacket and any plastic foil to expose the screen/armor of the cable. Terminate the screen/armor according to the cable requirement. Suggestions for cable preparations are available on www.roxtec.com. Correct placement of cable in EMC module.

Installation of Roxtec CM ES modules Remove the protection paper from the modules and fold back the tape. Note: Protection paper must be removed on spares also. dapt layers to outer jacket. dapt layers to cable screen. dapt vertical ES screen to cable screen. 6 7 8 chieve a gap of 0.-.0 mm () between the module halves. If not, repeat step -. The halves may not differ by more than one layer. Ensure good electrical conductivity between the cable screen and module tape. Fold the adhesive conductive tape tightly inside the module half from one side along the inner layers. Lift the plastic film from the folded side. Fold the tape on the other side tightly inside the module half. There must be no air-pockets. 9 0 Fold the plastic film back inside the module half. Lubricate all modules sparsely with Roxtec Lubricant on inside and outside rubber surfaces only. Do not lubricate the plastic film. For spare modules, lubricate all inside sealing surfaces with Roxtec Lubricant. Do not lubricate the film. Remove the plastic film. Keep the tape clean. Note: Plastic film must be removed on spares also.

6 Insert the modules from the outside of the cabinet with the conductive tape inwards. Cable shall be installed so that eventual extra exposed cable screen runs into the cabinet. For openable frames, fit the compression gasket around the cables by using the pre-opened long side. Thoroughly lubricate the compression rubber on both outside and inside surfaces with Roxtec Lubricant. 7 8 9 Position the compression rubber around the modules. Position the front plate on the compression rubber. Tighten the torx screws alternately in small steps. lways start with the short sides. Recommended torque 8-0 Nm. Disassembly and reinstallation of Roxtec CM ES modules Untighten the torx screws alternately. lways start with the short sides. Remove the front plate. Remove the compression rubber. Push out the modules needed from the back side. Clean the void. dapt the removed module to the new cable according to the CM ES instructions.

Installation of Roxtec CM PE modules Remove the protection paper from the modules and fold back the tape. dapt layers to outer jacket. dapt layers to cable screen. chieve a gap of 0.-.0 mm () between the module halves. Push out the modules needed from the back side. Clean the void. dapt the removed module to the new cable according to the CM PE instructions.

Note For optimum reliability, wait hours or longer after installation before exposing the cables/pipes to strain or pressure. n incorrectly adapted module shall be replaced (layers shall not be reused). Cables shall go straight through the frame. Permitted Roxtec modules: CM ES and CM PE. Minimum diameter of cables:. mm. Maximum diameter of cables:. mm. pprovals or certificates may include amendments or limitations related to this application. The latest version of this and related documents are found at roxtec.com.
