Introduction SerVision develops and markets video gateway units for monitoring sites using video cameras, sensors, and other devices. The video gateways can be accessed remotely using a variety of client devices: desktop or laptop PCs and mobile devices such as PDAs and cellular phones. When you are connected to a SerVision video gateway through a client device, you can view live video from the gateway on it. In addition, if the video cameras connected to the gateway have PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) features, you can control and move the cameras remotely through the client device. Some client devices also allow you to play recorded video, control activators, and view the locations of mobile video gateways on maps. In order to connect to a SerVision video gateway through a client device, SerVision's client software must be installed on the client device. This manual explains how to install and use SerVision client software on the Apple iphone. Once this software is installed on the iphone, you can use the iphone to connect to your SerVision video gateways whenever the iphone is connected to the cellular network, the internet, or the same local network as the video gateways. Supported Client Platforms SerVision provides client software for client devices running on the following platforms (operating systems): Platform Client Software SerVision Guide Windows PC MultiClient MultiClient User Guide Windows Mobile (Windows CE) SVClientCE Windows Mobile Client User Guide Apple iphone ISVClient This guide Symbian S60 SVClientS60 Symbian S60 Client User Guide Symbian UIQ SVClientUIQ Symbian UIQ Client User Guide This guide explains how to install and use the SerVision iphone client application, ISVClient. Client applications for other platforms, and manuals for those applications, are available on the SerVision website (http://www.servision.net). About this Manual This manual explains how to install, configure, and use SerVision s ISVClient application. It contains the following sections: Section Page Description Getting Started 4 Downloading and installing ISVClient; opening the application; overview of the interface Configuring ISVClient 6 Managing the list of video gateways to which ISVClient can connect Connecting to a video gateway 10 Viewing video, changing cameras, controlling PTZ cameras, viewing the location of mobile video gateways on a map; viewing the properties of the current video gateway Introduction 3

Getting Started This section explains how to download and install ISVClient, and provides an overview of the interface. Downloading and Installing ISVClient The ISVClient installation package is available for download from the Apple App Store. You can either download it to a computer and then use itunes to install it on your iphone, or download and install it from the App Store directly through your iphone. NOTE: At present, the application is available at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/isvclient/id348695072?mt=8. If this URL is no longer correct when you try to download the application, you can locate it by searching for App Store isvclient on Google. Opening ISVClient Once you have installed ISVClient on your iphone, you can open it. To open ISVClient: In the Home screen, tap the ISVClient icon. ISVClient opens and displays the Favorites screen. Figure 1 ISVClient icon Figure 2 Favorites screen The Favorites screen lists all the video gateways whose connection properties you have saved. The first time you open it, it is blank. To begin using the ISVClient, you must add your video gateways to the list; see Adding a Video Gateway to the Favorites, page 6. Getting Started 4

Overview of the Interface The ISVClient interface is divided into two areas, the main area at the top, and the navigation bar along the bottom. Main area Navigation bar Figure 3 Areas of the interface The contents of the main area change depending on the screen; it can contain video, application settings, or a Google Map. The navigation bar is always available. It contains buttons that you can use at any time to select one of ISVClient s screens. The button of the current screen is highlighted. For example, in figure 3 above, the Video screen is displayed and its button is highlighted. To select a screen: Tap the required button in the navigation bar, as follows: Button Screen Favorites screen Video screen Properties screen Map screen NOTE: The button is not currently in use. Adding a Video Gateway to the Favorites In order to add a video gateway to the Favorites, you must enter the following information: The public IP address or host name of the video gateway The port number used for client access to the video gateway The user name and password required for client access to the video ISVClient can connect to SerVision video gateways directly or through a proxy server. If you will be connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings you enter here must match those that are defined in the unit's configuration. (For additional information, please refer to the unit's configuration guide.) You will need to know the following information in order to configure a proxy connection: The name by which the video gateway is registered on the proxy server. For SVG and IVG units, this is the name of the unit as it appears in the configuration. For TVG units (HVG, MVG, UVG, and CVG), this is configured in the proxy settings of the unit. In the navigation bar, tap the Favorites button ( ). The Favorites screen opens. 2. Tap the desired video gateway. ISVClient connects to the video gateway. The Video screen opens and displays video from the first four cameras connected to the video gateway. Overview of the Video Screen The Video screen can display live video from up to four cameras connected to the current video gateway. By default, the display area is divided into four camera panes, each of which displays video from one camera. The names of the cameras appear at the top of each camera pane, and the date and time at which the current video frame was captured by the camera appear at the bottom of the camera pane. Camera pane Camera name Date and time Figure 9 Camera panes When you are connected to a video gateway, you can choose which of its cameras you want to view video from. You can also choose to view video in a larger camera pane that covers the entire display area. In this case, you can only view video from one camera at a time. In addition, if a camera has PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) controls, you can change the aim and zoom level of the camera. If the video gateway is installed in a vehicle, and has GPS support, you can open a Google Map and view the current location of the vehicle in the Map screen. Selecting a Different Camera If more than four cameras are connected to a video gateway, you can choose which cameras video to display in the Video screen. Even if four or less cameras are connected to the video gateway, you can use this method to change the camera pane in which the video from a camera appears. Connecting to a Video Gateway 10

Contolling PTZ Cameras If a camera has remote PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) controls, you can activate these controls from ISVClient whenever video from the camera is displayed. In order to do this, you must swipe across the camera pane in the correct region. To understand how the regions are defined, imagine the pane is divided into thirds, both horizontally and vertically. The regions labeled in the illustration below are used to activate PTZ controls: Center third of the pane Right side of the pane Middle third of the pane Figure 13 Regions of a camera pane NOTE: The speed and step (distance or extent) of the change is a function of how fast and how far you swipe.
