Hopefully you have stayed cool in the pool or in the Sound. It is that time of the year to be thinking about our Flag Officers and Board of Governors for the 2018 year. The Nominating Committee consists of, Dixie Huch, Jocelyn Turnbough, Sharon Quigley, T.J. Brace, Debbie Cox and Buddy Ray. If you would like to serve or know of someone who would like to serve, please contact one of the Nominating Committee members listed above. The proposed slate of Flag Officers and Board of Governors members will be presented prior to the November 1, 2017 General Membership meeting and voted on at this time. Our club was well represented in the 80 th Knost Regatta held at the Pass Christian Yacht Club. Two boats Free Spirit and Dock Darlings represented by Lydia Stokes and Jocelyn Turnbough participated in the Regatta. Free Spirit placed first and Dock Darlings placed seventh in the PHRF category. Congratulations to Lydia and Jocelyn! Please review the club calendar and newsletter for upcoming events at the club. Our House and Entertainment Committees are working hard to provide you with enjoyable and entertaining events. Please support them! Our annual Luau is scheduled for September 16. This is always a fun event with great food and music. You don t want to miss this one! Sharon Quigley tells me our Membership Drive is scheduled for September, October and November with a reduced initiation fee and a wonderful incentive for present members who propose the new application. Please check newsletter for details. New members are the future of the club. I encourage each current member to consider someone you know; neighbor, friend or work acquaintance to join our club. Member dues are critical to our success. As our club ages, the cost of upkeep and maintenance increases. We have been able to hold our dues at a reasonable amount with no increases for the past two years. Hopefully we can continue to remain at this level by growing our membership. As always, I would like to thank the many volunteers who keep our club running smoothly. We could not function without volunteer support. If you have comments and suggestions, please give them to me or one of the board members. See you at the club!

HOUSE COMMITTEE JULIE NOBLE First, I would like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers & sympathy for the loss of my Mom. She always said that she was happy that I had such a "good interest" to be involved in and such good friends there as well. I'd like to say a special Thank You to Sandy Pace and everyone else who stepped in to take care of the "House" responsibilities. You all are appreciated. I can hardly believe summer is almost over! I hope you all have been able to enjoy as many days (with or without rain) outdoors, whether on or off the water! September is going to be a busy month with Sailing, Trivia Night, Karaoke and our great annual Luau (I hope everyone will make a special effort to attend - you won't be disappointed!) Please check the calendar and newsletter for all upcoming events. Also, look for flyers and reminders that might be on our website, sent to you via email or on the tables at the club, and, as always, see you at your club! The Drink of the Month for September is Mermaid Water! FLEET CAPTAIN JUNE WIGGINS Hi folks! Its time again for great things like the Luau, Cruisin, and spooky stuff this way coming!
