Going time or requiring a prompt will not necessarily disqualify a performer from receiving a place: the all marks will be used to determine places. b) Consideration should be given to the choice of material to be presented. Suitability quality is required. c) Please announce the title author of any prepared item with the following exceptions: speeches; religious readings where you are required to state the book, chapter verses; mimes, improvisations, monologues, group dramas where the announcer will require information in order to give you an introduction. d) Points will be awarded as follows: 70+ - Participation; 80+ - Eligible for Highly Commended; 85+ - Eligible for places. An adjudication only will be given if a competitor requires multiple prompts or does not complete the performance. d) Please register at the venue before the beginning of the session you are performing in. A clear copy of prepared items should be submitted for adjudication. Be aware that photocopies will be destroyed. e) Any sets used in group dramas or monologues must be placed on the stage by the competitor/s one other person only. Don t forget to strike (clear away) your set at the end. f) All General Rules Conditions, appearing at the back of this Guide, apply to this Division.

3 General Information Etiquette Our aim is to provide a comfortable environment for our participants. We respect all efforts made by participants, irrespective of their experience or abilities. What do I do on the day of competition? You will need to bring any scripts or a copy of readings that you are presenting. The only time you will not need a copy of your work is for mime, improvisation public speaking. On your copy please write the section number your competitor number (S001, # 1) on the top so we can put it in the right folder. When you arrive, please check in with the desk submit any copies of work for that session. Take a seat enjoy the other sections before your turn. If you have never participated before it is a good idea to come to an earlier session, if possible, see what the other participants do. It helps to get a feel for the place as well. The announcer will call all participants for the section ask them to sit at the front. They will show you how to get to the stage. If you have an improvisation, mime or monologue/ dialogue, they will take the title announce it for you. All other titles authors will need to be announced by you. At the end of the section, the desk will have the work you submitted reports unless the adjudicator has given them to you in the presentation. Can I take photos / videos? Flash photography is not allowed. We reserve the right to ask for photos or videos to cease should this interfere with a performance. We will be using some photos for publicity purposes so let us know if there is a problem with this when you register at the venue. Who do I ask? Please do not approach the adjudicator for any questions. Ask one of our volunteers who are happy to help. Can I practice on the stage? Due to time constraints this is not viable, unless you turn up early to help set up or stay late to pack up the night before. Why does the audience need to pay to come in? It is not cheap to do any public performance while we do our best to c expenses in our entry fees, sometimes this results in entry fees being too high. If you wish to bring your family to multiple sessions we suggest a family membership. For $30 your family can go to any Division of the Eisteddfod for free. What do I wear? It is up to you. We want you to be comfortable but neat. Please do not wear heavy or noisy shoes during mimes ugg boots trackies are not recommended at all. Costumes are optional where stated in the Guide.
