21 SEPTEMBER 2015 PAGE 3 AV Competition Due Date: 19 October How are you going with your AV? Hopefully by now you have some fairly solid ideas on what you are going to do. If not, don t despair: the weather is picking up, so get out there, get inspired and get creative. This year, there will be two Audio Visual categories but they will come under one competition and be judged against each other. The categories are: AV 321 The AV will have a running time of exactly 3 minutes 21 seconds. Open The AV will have a maximum running time of 5 minutes but can be of any duration up to that time limit. If you d like to chat to someone about AVs please see Sara Knight. Fabulous Melbourne Trophy Competition Entry date extension! Wow! That s Good News! Thought you d left your run a bit late??? Never fear because the entry date for the Fantastic Melbourne Trophy Competition has been extended to Wednesday, 23 rd September. This is the only extension date as our judge is going on holidays and needs to judge before going away. This is a DIGITAL image competition showing how Fabulous Melbourne is. That IS good news about the trophy comp!! Set Subjects 2016 The set subjects for next year will be: Patterns In The Rain THE NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING IS TUESDAY 10 NOVEMBER 2015 End of Year BBQ A venue is required for our End Of Year BBQ. Introduction to Judging Workshop Thanks to the APJA (Australian Photographic Judges Association) and support from VAPS the next Introduction to Judging Workshop is planned for the Sunday, 8 November 2015. The workshop is aimed at anyone who has an interest in judging images and will demonstrate the discipline of judging and carries out practical applications of this by participants. The outcome will be a basic understanding of the role of judging images. This course is particularly designed for those who wish to enhance their understanding of judging photographs and is the first stepping stone for anyone who wish to continue with further training for the judging role. Date: Sunday 8th November Venue: St. Peter's Church Hall, cnr Ames Ave and Neerim Rd., Murrumbeena Parking available in surrounding streets (Not in the church carpark).
