Pittville Pump Room Series The Regency splendour of Cheltenham s 400 seat Pittville Pump Room has for a long time been the beating heart of the Music Festival s mainstream offering. With the chance to savour morning coffee, take in the sweeping views of Pittville Park or enjoy a pre-concert drink on the colonnade, it is the perfect summertime experience. Composer Academy The Composer Academy supports early career composers to bridge the gap between leaving a university or conservatoire and a professional career. The Academy provides access to professional development opportunities via workshops, networking opportunities and established composer mentors. It facilitates relationships with performers and peers, whilst embedding composers in the festival environment. 2015 highlights included: Largest number of applications to date from all over the world; 100+ applicants Highest number of participants and observer composers 262 tickets issued to the showcase concerts (more than treble the 2014 attendance) 1st year a vocal group has been incorporated to perform compositions This has been the most extraordinary five days. I have been provoked to listen really hard, think really hard and respond coherently. I have heard beautiful music and am longing to get back to my studio to write.
