I Can t Really Teach Music This CPD session is intended for KS1 curriculum teachers who lack confidence in teaching music. Led by KS1 music education specialist, Fiona Kenward, this session is designed to build confidence and provide dozens of practical ideas and activities which can be used straight away in the classroom. Fiona will help to explore the inter-related dimensions of music with instruments, singing, experimental play, composition and basic rhythm reading. 6

The session is designed to boost your confidence teaching whole-class instrumental lessons and provide you with tips and tricks to use in your own teaching, as well as how to use the new MusicPlus framework, observe and reflect on successful lessons and share good practice. There will be two more opportunities to attend Introduction to MusicPlus at our conferences - see page 4. Instruments on display will range from bespoke technology including Skoog, Beamz and ipads, as well as hackable music tech such as BBC Microbit and Raspberry Pi. The focus will be on how technology can be used to increase inclusion in music lessons and promote musical expression and creativity. Thu 24 Jan 2019 Cornwallis Suite Masonic Centre ME15 6LF Led by Soundabout Music and Autism An introduction on devising music sessions for students with autism and its associated conditions in a music education environment.
