Languages English Biographical Note Intiman Theatre is a non-profit professional theater company in Seattle, Washington. It was founded in 1972 by Fulbright Scholar Margaret Booker. Prior to 1987, Intiman did not have a permanent location and produced seasons at the Cornish Institute, Second Stage Theatre, and the Broadway Performance Hall. In 1987, the Intiman Playhouse opened at the Seattle Center. In 2006, Intiman received the Regional Theatre Tony Award, which is the highest honor an American regional theatre can receive. In 2013, the Intiman Playhouse became managed by the Cornish College of the Arts and was renamed the Cornish Playhouse. The Intiman Theatre still performs at various locations across Seattle.
