Hartford-New Haven Federation of Musicians ALL WAGE SCALES - PER MUSICIAN WAGE SCALES (Effective January 1, 2009) SCHEDULE I: CASUALS (Dances, Weddings, Receptions, Banquets, etc.), MISCELLANEOUS, POLITICAL RALLIES, COMBINATION ENGAGEMENTS, and JAZZ/BIG BAND CONCERTS LENGTH: Any 4 hours or less,(2 ½ hours for Jazz/Big band concerts).....$100.00 PREHEAT: When later joined by other musicians, per hour....$30.00 REHEARSALS: Per hour, or any part thereof.... $45.00 CARTAGE: A.) Drum Sets, Electric Keyboards, Electric Bass, and other instruments when amplification is required, extra.....$15.00 B.) P.A. At no time shall musicians be required to sit for a period longer than 90 minutes without a break.

-3- SCHEDULE IV: BRASS BAND/CONCERT BAND CONCERTS: All concerts and rehearsals to be paid Orchestra/Symphonic scale (Schedule III) PARADES: Not exceeding three (3) consecutive hours..$100.00 (Consecutive hours computed from reporting time to dismissal time.) BUGLER: Not to exceed two (2) hours..$90.00 SCHEDULE V: PUBLIC SERVICE ENGAGEMENTS (When no admission is charged) (An additional 4% for AFM-Employers Pension Fund must be added to all rates in this section) BRASS BAND CONCERTS LENGTH: 2 hours or less. Overtime is not allowed. Scale includes one 2 ½ hour rehearsal... $90.00 ALL OTHER ENGAGEMENTS: LENGTH: 3 hours or less. Overtime is not allowed. Scale includes one 2 ½ hour rehearsal.... $90.00 SCHEDULE VI: EDUCATIONAL OR DEMONSTRATION (For children, held before 6:00 P.M.) (An additional 4% for AFM-Employers Pension Fund must be added to all rates in this section) LENGTH: Maximum 1 hour..... $85.00 Two concerts within 3 hours.... $125.00 SCHEDULE VII: FASHION SHOWS, DANCE SCHOOL RECITALS, CHORAL AND GLEE CLUB LENGTH: 3 hours or less...... $85.00 DANCE LESSONS: Solo musician, or orchestra, playing for dance lessons only. Per musician, per hour..$40.00 SCHEDULE VIII: MAJOR VENUE (BUSHNELL CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS MORTENSEN HALL AND BELDING THEATER, OAKDALE MUSICAL THEATER, MEADOWS MUSIC THEATER, HARTFORD CIVIC CENTER, SUMMERWIND, RENTSCHLER STADIUM) LENGTH: 2 ½ hours or less...$300.00 Overtime per ½ hour or less $90.00 (1.5 x hourly rate) BUSHNELL CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS (SEAVERNS ROOM, AUTORINO GREAT HALLAND LOBBIES) LENGTH: 2 ½ hours or less $150.00 Overtime per ½ hour or less. $45.00 (1.5 x hourly rate)

-4- (SCHEDULE VIII CONTINUED) REHEARSALS FOR ALL OF THE ABOVE: Hourly rate.$60.00 Same day as engagement, 2 hours or less..$120.00 ($60.00/hour) Other than same day, 3 hour minimum call $180.00 ($60.00/hour) Overtime per ½ hour or less beginning with 5 th hour..$45.00 (1.5 x hourly rate) SOUND CHECK: 2-hour minimum call within 2.5 hours of performance, paid at rehearsal rate and shall not be used as a rehearsal. DOUBLING, TRIPLING, ETC: Any additional instrument (beyond the primary instrument) played in performance, rehearsal, and sound check is considered a double. a) First Double: 25% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate, in addition to the primary instrument. b) Second Double: 15% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate. c) Each Additional Double: 10% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate. The following are not construed as doubles: a) Drums, chimes, hammer-glockenspiel, and other accessories ordinarily played by a drummer; b) Xylophone, vibraphone, chimes and bells when played by one musician without any other double; c) Piano, celeste, harpsichord; d) B-flat and C-trumpet LEAD TRUMPET: 10% above base scale PRINCIPAL FIRST VIOLIN: When functioning as a concertmaster in a section of three or more violins 10% above base scale PENSION: A 10% pension contribution to the American Federation of Musicians and Employers Pension Fund shall be paid on all Major Venue scales. SCHEDULE IX: THEATER ENGAGEMENTS PERFORMANCE RATES: Per musician, per performance, not to exceed three (3) hours. Single Performance $146.00 Multiple Performances $132.00 PREMIUMS: Lead trumpet and concertmaster 10% of performance and rehearsal rates. REHEARSAL RATES: Per musician, per hour, 2.5 minimum call $40.00 Overtime shall begin at the start of the fifth hour. There shall be the equivalent to a ten (10) minute per hour break for all musicians rehearsing, and they shall not be required to rehearse for a period longer than two (2) consecutive hours without taking the accrued break time of twenty (20) minutes. Musical check/sound Check, called just prior to performance. Per hour..$48.00

-5- (SCHEDULE IX CONTINUED) DOUBLING, TRIPLING, ETC: Any additional instrument (beyond the primary instrument) played in performance, rehearsal, and sound check is considered a double. a) First Double: 25% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate, in addition to the primary instrument. b) Second Double: 15% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate. c) Each Additional Double: 10% of the Rehearsal, Performance and Sound Check rate. d) A combination of any two of the following percussion categories is considered a double: 1. Keyboard Instruments (mallets) 2. Trap Set 3. Tympani CARTAGE: If any large instruments must be transported to and from the performance site (and on a nightly basis) the musician will receive an additional amount of $7.00 per performance. Example: Upright bass. a) Percussion: $50.00 per carload (load-in and load-out days). b) Harp: $50.00 per carload (load-in and load-out days) c) Amplifier: $15.00 per carload (load-in and load-out days) ON STAGE APPEARANCES: If Union Musicians contracted to provide a pit orchestra are also required to perform on stage or within view of the audience, such Union Musicians shall receive additional 15% to the Performance Rate. If required to appear in a costume, additional 25% will be paid to each musician. SPECIAL PERFORMANCES: An additional $100.00 per musician will be paid for a special performance, i.e. a midnight, holiday, or New Year s Eve performance. COMMUNITY THEATER (High School, College, Religious Organizations) Performance $100 Rehearsal..$85 SCHEDULE X: ITEMS TO BE REFERRED TO THE LOCAL 400 OFFICE Radio, Television, Audio taping, Videotaping, Electrical transcription of any type or nature, Bushnell Memorial Engagements and any other item not clearly listed above. SCHEDULE XI: REFERRAL SERVICE ENGAGEMENTS (WORK OBTAINED THROUGH THE LOCAL S REFERRAL SERVICE) PERFORMANCE: Not to exceed four (4) hours.$100 WORK DUES: 10% work dues, per musician hired, will be charged on all referral engagements. If possible, add this charge ($10 per musician) on to the total fee when negotiating with the client.

-6- NOTES RELATING TO ALL WAGES AND CONDITIONS Transportation: Members who transport themselves and/or others more than 25 miles- current IRS rate per mile, after the first 25 miles, round trip, plus tolls and parking. All mileage determined from point of departure. On engagements of 2 or more days where musicians do not return home, mileage will be computed and paid from point of departure to the furthest point (round trip). The purchaser pays for first class transportation and all expenses, including room and board, to and from the point of departure. If an engagement terminated at midnight or later and is 180 or more miles from the point of departure, sleeping accommodations must be provided. This requirement shall not apply if the return is by plane or first class train. When transportation is provided by bus without restroom facilities, a rest stop of 10 minutes every two hours is required. Meals: On out of jurisdiction Engagements, meals will be paid for as follows: When leaving before- Breakfast 9:00 A.M... $7.00 Lunch 12:00 Noon..... $10.00 Dinner 5:00 P.M... $20.00 (Not applicable if proper meals are provided) Substitutes: Must be paid full applicable scale. Must be paid full casual scale on Steady Engagements if employed less than one (1) week. Cartage: Strolling: To be negotiated on an individual basis unless otherwise indicated. When musicians are required to stroll........ $12.00 additional pay Intermissions: Unless otherwise indicated, at discretion of Leader and employing party. 1) Engagements of 2 hours... One fifteen (15) minute break 2) Engagements exceeding two hours...equivalent of ten (10) minutes per hour 3) Intermissions of less than these standards shall be considered continuous employment. Musicians shall receive an additional $35.00. Premiums: Leaders, Contractors and Solo Performers shall be according to the following schedule: 1) Performing Contractor: 200% the pertinent sidemusician scale. 2) Non-performing Contractor: 100% of the pertinent sidemusician scale. 3) Performing Leader: 150% of the pertinent sidemusician scale. 4) Acting Leader: When a Leader or Representative does not personally direct or lead a unit on an engagement, one member of the unit shall act in his capacity and shall receive 150% of the pertinent sidemusician scale. 5) Solo Performer: 200% of the pertinent sidemusician scale. 6) In no event shall any musician receive a premium in excess of 250% of sidemusician scale.
