WHAT IS WEBOPAC? Web + Online Public Access Catalogue = WebOPAC WebOPAC is a computerized online catalogue of materials that held in library. OPAC is stand for Online Public Access Catalog to locate the Call Number of the material to find the Location of the material to check the Status of the material Functions of WebOPAC to check Patron Record to Reserve a book to Renew Online

BROWSE SEARCH Browse search allow users to browse the library physical items by several keywords: KEYWORD CALL NUMBER TITLE SERIES AUTHOR (individual name, organization, conference, etc.) SUBJECT ISBN

Availability : Shows the item information (Status, Location & Call Number)

BROWSE SEARCH Details Information of the book Current Location: determine which library the book located. Call Number: to locate book on the shelf Status: to indicate either the book is available or on loan, etc.

LIST OF STATUS IN WEBOPAC Status (in WebOPAC) At Bindery Available Checked Out Damaged In Process In Transit Missing Not for loan On Hold On Reserve Ordered Description The material/ books in repairing process (at bindery unit) Materials / books available and ready to be borrowed Material / books are being borrowed by user Material/ books damaged Material/ book in the process of cataloguing Material/ books in the transmission between the library, not ready to be borrowed Material/ book missing Materials / books can not be borrowed, only for reference in the library. Materials/ books has been reserved by user Materials/ books available to be borrowed for 4 hours or 1 day (according to the type of material) Materials/ books in the process of purchasing

ADVANCED SEARCH Advanced search is a structured search using Boolean operators (and, or, not). The advanced search allow you to search by Keyword, Title, Author, etc. and by combining these searches to narrow down or broaden your search results: BARCODE KEYWORD SUBJECT ISBN ADVANCED SEARCH TITLE PUBLISHER LOCATION PUBLISHER AUTHOR

BOOLEAN OPERATOR Boolean operators are logical search operators that allow you to narrow or broaden search. They are used in seraching a wide range of electronic resources including: Library catalogues (WebOPAC) Bibliographic databases Most Internet search engines

BOOLEAN OPERATOR : Logical Search AND - Narrows a search. - Each result contains all search terms. OR - Broadens a search - Each result contains at least one search term. NOT - Narrows a search. - Results do not contain the specified terms.

HOW TO REQUEST BOOK? Via Online: request can only be made if the status of the book is Checked out. Reservations will be succeed if: The number of books borrowed has not reached the limit of loan eligibility. (See loan eligibility) No fines. Patron record is not blocked because of certain offenses. (See note)

Book Request was Successful Hold (1) : shows the material has been successfully booked Status Pending : The material has not been returned by user. Priority 1 : Shows your queue

An e-mail will be sent to the user when the material is ready to be borrowed. e.g Hold Available for Pickup at Main Library The book is ready to be borrowed

The book is ready to be borrowed Please go to the Circulation Counter to get the material when the status turns to Item waiting at

Cannot place hold if user have unpaid fees. Book Request were not Successful

Your Summary CHECKED OUT MAIN PAGE : Your summary 1- Checked out - Information of books that you have borrowed (checked out )

Your Summary HOLDS MAIN PAGE : Your summary 2. Holds - Information of books you have hold or requested (reserved/ booked)

Your Fines 3. Your fines - Information on fine amount, amount outstanding and total due

Your Personal Details 4. Your personal details - to update related information. Users are advised to update the EMAIL ADDRESS.

Change Your Password 5. Change your password - to change password for login to your account.

Your Search History 6. Your search history Shows all the keyword that you used to search. Users also can refer the search history for their future searching.

Your Reading History Checkout History 7. Your reading history Shows all the items that you have borrowed.

Your Lists Your lists Click the name list that have been created 8. Your lists Shows the name list that have been created by users.

RENEW BOOKS/ LIBRARY MATERIAL Online renewal can only be done twice Online renewal will not be succeed if: Renewal can not be done too early. Item can only be renewed one day before the due date. Email (item due reminder) will send to user. The material has been reserved by other users (Status: On hold) The loan period has expired Users have fines and charge Renewal over 2 times

Click Login Account to renew E-mail Address Make sure to use an active e-mail address. Users can update the e-mail address in the patron account your personal details.
