Bravo Performing Arts Academy: an intense musical theater experience designed to hone the vocal, acting, and dance skills of students who have the desire, discipline and passion for musical theater. Full book musicals are taught and performed in only 20 days! BPAA is open to students in 4-9 grades. Junior Bravo Academy: designed for students that may be new to the stage and have the desire to learn more about musical theater. Offers intimate training for students who don t have as much experience or knowledge in music, dance and acting. Junior shows are taught and performed in only 15 days! JBA is open to students in 4-7 grades. After only a few weeks of intensive afternoon rehearsals, we will present up to three spectacular, professional-quality musicals featuring dozens of memorable songs, originally directed scenes, stunning makeup, impressive choreography, dazzling costumes and amazing sets.

Academy Dates and Times Bravo Performing Arts Academy, 2015 Auditions - May 30 & 31, 2015 June 8 - July 12 - Monday to Friday, 9am 3:30pm No camp July 4 BPAA mandatory Tech rehearsal: Sunday, July 5 BPAA Tech Rehearsals: 5-8pm, week of show Shows considering: Rock of Ages, Seussical, Wizard of Oz, Godspell, (Play - TBD) Junior Bravo Academy, 2015 Auditions - May 30 & 31, 2015 June 8 July 3 - Monday to Friday, 9am 3:30pm Final camp day is July 3 Show: 101 Dalmations A Typical Day at Bravo Academy 9AM-12PM (Monday-Thursday) JBA: Rehearsals BPAA: Classes BPAA choose from specialties such as: Dance Improvisation Acting Film Props & Costumes Voice Scenic Design Theatrical Makeup Stagecraft Lunch: 12PM-12:25 PM 12:30 PM-3:30 PM (and all day Friday) Production rehearsals, Stagecraft, Film & Junior Bravo classes

Audition Information Students register for a Thursday or Friday slot (4pm-6pm or 6pm-8pm). Be prepared to sing and present a short memorized monologue. Short memorized song (32 bars) preferably musical theater 2. Short memorized monologue or story 3. Bring completed Audition Card (download online), attach a photo of yourself and bring to the audition Auditions are for academy enrollment. Students will audition May 30 & 31 for specific musical roles. Enrollment will be announced in March. Directors place students in the appropriate camp following auditions. Notification of camp enrollment will be one to two weeks after auditions. All classes taught by Chicago s finest, Award-Winning Bravo instructors!

Interested in Stagecraft/Running Crew? Those interested in stagecraft / running crew are required to attend a brief meeting on Saturday, March 7 from 9am-10:30am; Get to know the Crew! Students who are selected to devote their afternoons to a Stagecraft Option, will include the design and construction of all sets and props along with running crew training and production assignment. Students interested in stage-crew are required to SUBMIT AN ESSAY NO LATER THAN MONDAY, MARCH 2. Please read the questions below and email a one to two page essay for consideration to Tina Reynolds, Bravo Artistic Director, at: treynolds@op97.org ESSAY QUESTIONS: 1. Describe why you would like to participate on stage crew for the Bravo Summer Performing Arts Academy and summer production and what you hope to learn from the experience? 2. List any experiences you may have had on stage or behind the scenes. 3. What Bravo productions have you seen and which has been your favorite? 4. Tell us about yourself (hobbies, likes and dislikes, favorites) 5. What part of the technical theater experience interests you the most and why (costumes, painting, construction, stage management, set moving, curtain, makeup sound, lights, design)? 6. Which morning classes interest you most: voice, dance, acting, improvisation, film, theatrical makeup, costume building, set design, script writing; and why? 7. Being a part of the Crew can be very demanding. It takes hard work, dedication, teamwork, patience, and lots of discipline. Please describe your best attribute for being a member of the stage crew and why. 8. On the night our show opens this summer, what job do you see yourself doing and why? 9. Kids returning to crew: how can we improve your experience this summer? 10.
