COMPANY: Audition information SIX FOOT SOMETHING PRODUCTIONS www.sixfootsomething.com.au STATE OPERA STUDIO September 2014 PRODUCTION TEAM Director / Designer: David Lampard Musical Director: Peter Johns Producer: Six Foot Something Productions Associate Producer: Hayley Horton Stage Manager: Amanda Rowe Lighting Designer: Daniel Barber Sound Designer: Matt Curtis KEY DATES Auditions: Sunday 30 March 2014 Rehearsals begin: July/August 2014 First performed in 1970, Company is considered by many to have inaugurated the modern era of musical theatre. A commitment-phobic man reassesses his life as he turns thirty-five reviewing his relationships with girlfriends and his married (or soon to be married) friends. Exploring the notion of commitment in a modern world, Company has remained a favourite with theatregoers with a remarkable script that still resonates profoundly with contemporary audiences. Featuring songs like You Could Drive a Person Crazy, Getting Married Today, The Ladies Who Lunch, and Being Alive, Company has been performed constantly since its award-winning Broadway debut. Recent revivals have included West End and Broadway productions including a worldwide telecast of the latter featuring Neil Patrick Harris, Patti LuPone, Martha Plimpton, Jon Cryer and Christina Hendricks to rave reviews. A musical comedy, Company is an insightful glimpse into the mind of anyone who has ever dated, flirted, married, divorced, had a one night stand or otherwise found themselves in the grips, fun or struggles of any kind of relationship! Six Foot Something Productions are planning a spectacular version of this challenging and historically important work. Our Company takes place in a stylized 1970s version of now with costumes, set and props all possessing a modern feel, but layered by a stylish retro finish. This is the space in which Robert slowly circles towards the discovery that: Alone is alone, not alive. Season: 28 August 13 September 2014
