Frequently Asked Questions When & Where is the audition? The audition will take place on September 17, 2011 by appointment only at Grandstreet Theatre, 325 North Park (Lawrence St. Entrance) Where are the rehearsals and the performances taking place? Rehearsals and performances for Peter Pan will be held at Grandstreet Theatre and the Grandstreet Theatre Studio (around the corner on Fuller Ave) Who is the production staff? Director-Marianne Adams Musical Director-Marianne Adams/Dodie Walsh Choreographer-Martha Sprague Scholarship sales manager-colleen Binky Watson Pre-show choir Director-Dawn Lee Kangas Scene Designer/Tech Director-Cody W. Doll Do I have to have an appointment to audition? Yes, sign up in the classroom at Grandstreet. If I audition am I guaranteed a role in the show? Since this is a Theatre School production the answer is yes. If you complete all the requirements of the audition you will have a role in the show or on the crew. Can my parents stay to watch my audition? Since your audition will only take 5 minutes we ask that your parents wait for you in the lobby. Your parents will not be permitted into the theatre during your audition.

Do I have to be a current member of Grandstreet Theatre School to audition? Yes, you must be signed up for at least two sessions to be allowed to audition. There are rare exceptions to this rule and you must talk directly to Marianne. Will Grandstreet Theatre double cast this show? Since we do sixteen performances of Peter Pan. we will make every effort to double cast the show. Will I get comp tickets to this show? No. You will get the opportunity to buy tickets before it is open to the general public. Where do I find a monologue that is age appropriate? The best place to look is in books that you (or your child) are reading. Make sure the books are written in first person and that the passage chosen is not too passive. There are also monologue books available with children s monologues. Some are good and some are mediocre. Can I sing a song from Peter Pan? If you are interested in the role of Peter Pan please sing either Neverland, I Gotta Crow, or Wendy. If you are interested in Wendy, Michael or John please sing Tender Shepherd or I m Flying. If you are interested in the role of Tiger Lily please sing Ugg-a-Wugg. If you are interested in Captain Hook Waltz. All others should pick a song from a musical that they love. Please nothing written after 1980 unless it is in the style of the musical.

Will it cost me anything to participate? Each student is asked to sell 3 raffle tickets for our scholarship fund. Raffle tickets sell for $10.00 a piece or 3 for $25.00. There is a cash prize for the top three sellers. You may be asked to purchase a pair of socks, or find black shoes but the cost will be minimal and should not keep anyone from auditioning. If necessary we can help out with these costs. However, you must be current with your tuition payments for classes. There will be optional costs and a sheet is attached in this packet if you are interested. Do I still attend class if I am in Peter Pan Yes!
