NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2016 RELEASE The World war rages with new intensity. The changing fortunes and requirements of the conflict are forcing the combatants to adapt; the navies of the great powers have responded, creating new designs to overcome fresh challenges thrown up by the war s many theatres, resulting in a new generation of flexible and easily adaptable ships of war. Introducing the new: Kingdom of Britannia Magnate Class Battleship Federated States of America Mississippi Class Battleship Prussian Empire Eider Class Battleship Empire of the Blazing Sun Yokai Class Battleship
Kingdom of Britannia Magnate Class Battleship (DWKB54) With Britannian shipyards under immense pressure to keep up with the war effort, the Naval Admiralty identified the need to create a large hull design that could be quickly built and then pressed into several combat roles. The Magnate is the end result of this development; a fast Battleship striking a balance between speed, endurance and firepower, a fine solution to the challenge of maintaining Her Britannic Majesty s freedom of the seas. The lighter hull of the MkI Magnate makes her swift for a Battleship, and an excellent companion to the Lord Hood Class Battle Cruiser. The Magnate also allows the Naval Armada to hammer home the message of its dominance even to land-bound targets. The MkII Magnate Class is a bombardment craft, or pounder-ship in Naval Armada slang, mounting a brace of massive artillery batteries highly capable of destroying Fortifications. The blue components go together to create the MkI Magnate Battleship and the red components form the MkII. Please see the images on the following page to see how both variants look when assembled. Federated States of America Mississippi Class Battleship (DWFS54) The great paddle-wheeled battleships of the FSA Navy are a familiar sight on the high seas, and the punishing weight of fire they can bring down on the enemy has become the stuff of legend to all fighting sailors, whether friend or foe. The MkI Mississippi design builds on this solid foundation, shipping an extra piston turret to maintain weight of fire with lighter, handier guns. Though smaller than the heavy Liberty, it still represents a serious threat to enemy vessels of all tonnages, while still being creditably swift and characteristically manoeuvrable in confined waters. The Mississippi MkII came about following battle experience in the Pacific and Mediterranean campaigns, both of which were characterised by severe enemy aerial threats. Boasting three deadly new Orlington high-angle volleycannons, the MkII is a ferocious prospect for naval or aerial opponents. The blue components go together to create the MkI Mississippi Battleship and the red components form the MkII. Empire of the Blazing Sun Yokai Class Battleship (DWBS54) Fighting far from their home ports has become the norm for the Empire of the Blazing Sun s naval forces. Cutting the seas like sword blades, striking with punishing volleys of rocket-assisted shells and lethal incendiaries, these warships have allowed the Little Giant of the Pacific to punch well above its weight. The new Yokai fast Battleship was designed to be an excellent long-range heavy support vessel for fast raiding groups, with its clean hydrodynamic hull (rumoured to have incorporated knowledge gleaned from the Italian League) and fast firing primary and secondary batteries. The Yokai Class MkII offers immense versatility to Blazing Sun naval commanders; being a fast strike carrier shipping a full wing of deadly attack aeroplanes at high speed with excellent response times. The MkII excels when assigned to fleets with a Mizuchi Battle Cruiser or Kaiju Heavy Battleship. The blue components go together to create the MkI Yokai Battleship and the red components form the MkII. Eider Class Battleship (DWPE54) The Prussian Empire s latest programme of Battleship construction was based on the classic doctrine of Donner und Blitzen Thunder and Lightning. The new Eider Class Battleships coming off the slips in North Germany and Scandinavia epitomise both these principles. In its baseline form, the MkI Eider is a very powerful gunship, mounting enough firepower from its primary and secondary naval artillery to batter the toughest foes into submission. It is a design inspired to take on heavily protected enemy warships, cracking them open with sheer weight of shell! By contrast, the Eider Class MkII is a floating lightning storm. Rumoured to have been designed in concert with the Knights-Luminary of the Teutonic Order, it is entirely Tesla-armed in both turret and broadside batteries; projecting a force of electrical energy sufficient to blast and burn any foe to ruin. The blue components go together to create the MkI Eider Battleship and the red components form the MkII.
