COM208: CREATIVE WRITING: POETRY SYLLABUS LECTURE HOURS/CREDITS: 3/3 CATALOG DESCRIPTION Prerequisite: ENG101 English Composition I Students study a variety of poems for their poetic structure and write a series of poems in the narrative, dramatic and lyric forms. Students also share their poems in progress, demonstrating, for example, figurative language, sound sequence, meter and stanzic patterns. They prepare at least three poems for submission to a magazine or literary journal.
