Important Information Caution: To reduce the risk of eectric shock, refer servicing to quaified service personne. Do NOT attempt to remove parts on your own. The mounting surface shoud be fat and secure to prevent the TV from damage. Pace the TV at a proper distance from the wa to aow ventiation and prevent the TV from overheating. Avoid dusty paces as we. Do not put any heavy object on top of the TV. Do not stand or cimb on the TV. For your safety, do not remove the back cover of the TV. Avoid exposing the TV to direct sunight or the direct radiation of other heat sources. Putting the TV directy under sunight wi produce gare. If any foreign materia or iquid eaks into the TV, unpug the AC cord and contact your deaer. Do not pug too many appiances into one outet or eave the cords tanged up, roed over by heavy objects or subjected to heat. Remove the power pug when the TV is eft unused for a ong period of time. If the TV emits smoke, unusua noise or strange odor, turn it off immediatey and contact your deaer. It is dangerous to eave the TV on under such circumstances. For safety purpose, when you see the warning message as beow, contact your deaer referred servicing to quaified service personne to change the amp as soon as possibe. Lamp is running out of standard ifetime. Be sure to repace the amp as soon as possibe. Ceaning the TV Make sure the TV is turned off before you cean it. Do not spray on the screen or the cabinet of TV directy. v Ceaning the screen j Wipe cean the screen with a cean, soft and unfuzzed coth to remove dusts and other fine partices k Wipe the screen with a cean int free coth to remove dust. Using the Remote Contro How to Use the Remote Contro j Point the front of the remote contro to the remote contro receiving window at the ower margin k of the TV and press the button desired. The remote contro works within 7M ( 20 feet) from the TV. Precautions Do not pour iquid on the remote contro. Do not drop the remote contro. Leave the remote contro in a dry pace at room temperature. When the remote contro becomes ess sensitive after a ong time of use, repace the batteries. If you do not intend to use the remote contro for more than one month, remove the batteries to prevent acid eak that wi damage the remote contro. If there is acid eak, cean it off and then insta new batteries. Do not mix use new and used batteries or batteries of different types. Connecting the TV This product uses coaxia cabe for signa transmission, which comes in from your antenna or cabe converter box. Coaxia cabes use F connectors. Audio and Composite video cabes are usuay coor coded according to use: yeow for video, red for audio and stereo right channe, and white for audio and stereo (or mono) eft channe. If you check the rear pane of the TV, you wi see that the jacks are coor coded in the same manner as the cabes. S-video cabes can ony be used with S-video compatibe components. Component video cabe comes in a set of three and provides exceent picture performance. Component video cabe can ony be used with compatibe components. Connecting the TV Connecting the VCR to Video Output This connection aows the output of the source that is currenty on the screen to a VCR. TV VCR Connecting Two VCRs to Video Output This connection aows you to record from one VCR to another VCR whie watching a video program. VCR 1 TV Caution: Do not connect one VCR to the output and input jacks on the TV at the same time. To monitor the reproduction, VCR 2 for recording must seect Line IN, and the TV must seect AV1-C source. VCR 2 Engish 10

The Remote Contro Functions [ POWER ] turns the TV on and off. [ TV ] seects video input source. [ VIDEO ] seects any mode of AV1-S, AV1-C, AV2-YCrCb, AV2-C, AV3-S and AV3-C. [ DATA ] seects any mode of RGB1, RGB2, and DVI. [ DISPLAY ] dispays on-screen message. [ MUTE ] mutes the sound. [ SLEEP ] sets the OFF timer (seep). [ MTS ] seects stereo, mono or anguage broadcast. [ FREEZE ] freezes the screen. [ CH RTN ] returns to the ast viewed channe. [ CH+ / CH- ] Press CH- to seect channe in reverse order, press CH+ to seect channe in numerica order. [ VOL+ / VOL- ] Press VOL+ to turn up the voume, press VOL- to turn down the voume. [ MENU ] aows menu editing. [ PIP ] operates picture in picture. [ PIP SOURCE ] seects the source of PIP. [ SWAP ] switches main and second pictures. [ CH / CH ] seects channe in second picture ony. Press CH to seect channe in reverse order, and CH in numerica order. [ LINE OUT ] seects output source. [ SURROUND ] adjusts surround sound effect. [ X-BASS ] receives super-base sound effect. [ AUTO SCAN ] Make sure this function is executed when your TV connects the antenna or a cabe converter box. It wi activate auto scan and return to norma settings after the scan is done. 11 Engish

Basic Operation Feature Operation Standby/On Press [ POWER ] or STANDBY/ON on the TV. At this time, the POWER/STANDBY indicator wi fash green and stop in green after 30 seconds. Power OFF Press POWER to turn off the power. Seecting channe Press [ CH+ / CH- ] to seect the desired channe or press the channe number directy. You may aso use CHANNEL - / + on the TV to seect channe. Voume adjustment Press [ VOL+ / VOL- ] or VOLUME - / + on TV to adjust voume. Muting the sound Press [ MUTE ] to mute the sound. Freezing the screen Press [ FREEZE ] to freeze the screen. Switching between two channes Press [ CH RTN ] to return the ast viewed channe. Seecting video input source 1. Press [ TV ] to watch a oca program or cabe TV program. 2. Press [ VIDEO ] to seect video program from AV1-S, AV1-C, AV2-YCrCb, AV2-C, AV3-S or AV3-C. 3. Press [ DATA ] to view computer data from RGB1, RGB2, or DVI. 4. You may aso press SOURCE at the front pane to seect any of the three video input sources. Dispaying on-screen message Press [ DISPLAY ] to dispay on-screen message. Engish 12

Advanced Operation Setting OFF-Timer (Seep) Press [ SLEEP ] unti the duration you desire appears on the screen. The change of time is as foows each time you press [ SLEEP ] : 1M 15M 30M 60M 90M 120M 0M 15 M means the TV goes into seep mode in 15 minutes, and so on for other durations set. But when you pick 0 M, it means the OFF-timer is off. Setting Sereo, Mono or SAP Broadcast Press [ MTS ] unti you the menu you desire appears. Seection STEREO SAP Function You can isten to stereo sound when the TV receives stereo broadcast You can isten to a second anguage when seecting SAP. ( second audio program ) The sound wi be muted if it is not a SAP program. MONO You can receive mono sound (or use MONO to reduce the noise of stereo broadcast). Setting X-BASS System Press the [ X-BASS ] button wi enhance the bass effect (even when the voume is very ow). To turn off the X-Bass feature, press [ X-BASS ] again. OFF-Timer button Sterto, Mono or SAP button Using the Surround Sound Feature Press the [ SURROUND ] button changes the PIP button stereo mode of TV or video output to surroundsound. To turn off the surround-sound feature, press [ SURROUND ] again. Watching Picture-In-Picture Surround sound Super-bass button Press [ PIP ] aows you to watch two pictures at the same time. The second picture can be a TV broadcast or come from an externa source, such as a VCR. To dispay a TV broadcast as a second picture: ( [ DATA ] doesn t provide this function ). Steps 1. Turn on the TV and seect the program you want to watch. 2. Press [ PIP ] once to dispay a second picture. Use [ MENU ] to seect the size of second picture (P.19). 3. Press [ CH ] or [ CH ] to choose the TV program you want to be dispayed as a sma picture. 4. Press [ PIP SOURCE ] or [ MENU ], then seect the PIP main menu. Under SOURCE, choose the input source from TV, AV1-S, AV1-C, AV2-YCrCb, AV2-C, AV3-S and AV3-C as a second picture (see P.18). 5. To turn PIP off, press [ PIP ] again. Notes: Main picture and second picture can not be TV program in the sam time. If you desire to have both main and second pictures as TV signas, contact your deaer for dua-tuner option upgrade. 13 Engish

MENU How to Program the Menus You can use the buttons on the TV pane or remote contro to program and save the menus. Up/Dn, Lt/Rt and Enter buttons to seect and set menu items. Press [ SELECT ] on TV pane to highight the item desired, then press [ ENTER ] to set the seected menu. 3. Use this function to make adjustment when the picture shows vertica fickering ines. TRACKING Synchronizes the picture dispay signas and dispay card. When the picture becomes unsteady or fickers, use this function to make adjustment. H POSITION Moves the picture to eft or right. V POSITION Moves the picture to up or down. EXPAND Expands the picture to the entire TV screen. Press to seect ON or OFF. AUDIO Item TREBLE BASS BALANCE STEREO MONO SAP PIP Item PIP SOURCE SWAP Function and Operation Adjusts the trebe in the sound source. Adjusts the bass in the sound source. Contros the output voume ratio from eft and right speakers. See P.13 for detais. Press to make seection. Function and Operation Turns on and off picture-in-picture. Press to seect ON or OFF. The input source incudes: TV, AV1-S ( S-video ), AV1-C, AV2-YCrCb, AV2-C, AV3-S ( S-video ) and AV3-C. Press to seect source. Switches the main and second pictures. Press to make seection. Engish 18

MENU Item DISPLAY COLOR TEMP RESET ALL LAMPTIME Function and Operation Dispays the on-screen messages, such as channe and source. Press to seect ON or OFF. Adjusts the coor temperature from 6500K to 11000K. The defaut vaue is 6500K. Returns the dispay parameters of the current mode to its factory defaut settings. Press [ ENTER ] to make seection. This tes the user the remaining ife of amp. Estimated ife time of a new amp is 8000 hours. The TV wi detect the amp ife itsef. It wi show you a warning message Lamp is running out of standard ifetime. Be sure to repace the amp as soon as possibe. When you see this message, contact your deaer referred servicing to quaified service personne to change the amp as soon as possibe. Engish 20

Troubeshooting If you have probem with your TV, refer to the foowing tabe for possibe causes. If you can t sove the probem, pease contact your oca deaer or our service center. Probem Soution TV wi not turn on Make sure the power cord is pugged in, then press [ POWER ]. The remote contro batteries may be dead. Repace the batteries. No picture, no sound Check a cabes and antenna are accuratey connected. Check if power pug or outet is working. No sound, picture OK The sound may be muted. Press [ VOL ]. The station may have broadcast difficuty. Try another channe. Check if [ MUTE ] button is inadvertenty pressed. Poor sound, picture OK The station may have broadcast difficuty. Try another channe.
