To all sensitive and co-operative parents FROM PRINCIPAL S DESK Mrs Soma Chatterjee To all sensitive and co-operative parents! Remember, one little child can change the history of the country. From childhood onwards, noble ideas were inculcated in all the great men of the past and they invariably declare that for the greatness they achieved, they are indebted to their mothers. Role of the parents should be to provide a secure home environment while raising children with love, care and discipline along with the values and culture of the school. In short, school is a backyard, an extension of the home sweet home. Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow. Pandit Nehru was the first prime minister of India who is fondly remembered as Chacha Nehru by children. It is his deep love for children that made people celebrate this great day as Children s day. On Children s Day, as the term goes, all children irrespective of their age group, caste, colour, sex are loved for their very existence. In fact, this day gives us, adults and grownups, a reason to revive our good old days and make us feel special as we all have an element of childhood embedded inside us. Keeping the essence of this special day intact, we at Podar International School, Nerul, also celebrated Children s Day with fun and frolic. Exploring the creativity inside us, we tried to make this day truly eventful and special for children such that the memory is cherished by them throughout the year. This morning 1st to 9 th were allowed to dress up in beautiful clothes, thus breaking away from the routined uniform looks. The entire school including the long corridors and the classrooms were embellished with trinkets and trifles, thereby enhancing the effect of the occasion. The classrooms were converted into a cozy, comfortable theatres to showcase award winning movies like Halo, Finding Nemo,Speed and Volcano catering to different age groups. The popcorn break followed by the sumptuous snack from the school added to the children s excitement. The day unfolded with interesting games, display of creativity from both teachers and children enhancing the bond of love between them.-mrs JAYA SINHA

We are, indeed, honoured to inform you that our dear Primary Coordinator of Podar International School, Nerul (CBSE), Pratima Pandey has been falicitated by Anchorwala Education Academy for initiating the cleanliness drive for a clean and green India. Following the footsteps of our Prime Minister for a Swatchch Bharat, Mrs.Pratima took the students to the Ganpati Immersion beach at Vashi, and taught them to clean the area. She also introduced the concept of 'wet and dry waste' at four different housing societies in Vashi. Such initiatives will not only inspire the next generation to preserve the environment, but also would be an eye-opener to those who thought that teachers had lost their touch in the world of gadgets and gizmos. On 24th November Aditya Tyagi of VII-B was awarded as the runner up in All India National Junior GolfChampionship in Western India
