Welcome to Pirate Studio Pay Scale 100 pts each week You may earn 20 points daily -10 daily points if you are late to class 0 points - An unexcused absence Participation points missed due to an excused absence must be made up during an approved tutorial time.
Welcome to Pirate Studio Docking Pay Points may be deducted for each occurrence of the following: Any action that affects the productivity of the class (including cell phone use) Improper use of Computer Lab* or Studio facilities Improper use of video equipment. Rude or Unprofessional Behavior
Cell Phone / Electronics Policy This begins MONDAY Cell phones must go in the hanging station on the wall. Must be put away (on silent) BEFORE the tardy bell. FIRST SIX WEEKS ONLY 1st offense...warning. Phone stays on my desk for the rest of the period. 2nd offense...i will take the phone up and you may pick it up at the end of the day. (parent notified) 3rd offense...phone is taken up, discipline referral
Food / Drink Absolutely NO food or drink in the lab and studio The only exception is a water bottle that has a lid. Bottles should be placed on the floor away from the computers and equipment. This is a Nut Free classroom!!! If you have eaten anything with peanuts or peanut butter please make sure you wash your hands before you come to class.
Turning in Work Google Classroom. You will be shown the proper way to turn in an assignment. Failing to turn work in properly (i.e. location, file type, etc.) will result in a penalty or zero. What if I miss class? Check Google Classroom FIRST. Complete make-up work at prearranged tutorials.
Tutorials Mon thru Fri 8:15am-8:45am Tutorials are available if you need help, extra time, or need extra participation points. However, you must make arrangements with me the day prior to your tutoring to avoid conflicts. If you need to arrange an afternoon tutorial please come speak with me.
FAQs Late Work? Even though we all work at different paces, just like an employer, I expect you to meet the due dates. No assignments will be accepted more than 3 days after the due date What if I miss a major project deadline or test? You will be expected to turn in the project or take the test as soon as you return.
FAQs Grades Check Skyward Please EMAIL - questions about a grade. I can t take class time to discuss grades. 0 for all missing assignments. * (asterisk) means I have not yet graded the assignment. Assignments accepted after a due date will be graded at a later date. No work will be accepted more than 3 days after the due date.
FAQs Restroom policy? 3 passes per six weeks. No passes 10 minutes before/after the bell. What rules do you have about the Internet? No games. No YouTube. No video streaming (this goes for listening to videos.) No random internet surfing. Will I have homework? You WILL have some homework. Videos will be placed on a YouTube channel. As a result, you may have to repeat or correct assignments until they are up to industry-standards.
FAQs Can I take a camera home? When appropriate for an AV1 or AV2 class assignment, cameras can be checked out overnight. What happens if I accidently break a camera? While accidents do happen, you will learn there are measures that can be taken in order to help prevent an accident. If a camera is damaged due to negligence or inappropriate behavior, the student/parent/guardian will be required to pay for any expenses necessary for the repair or replacement of the equipment.
Supplies 1-subject spiral (or folder with paper) dedicated to your AV class only. Large pink eraser Highlighter Pencils to take notes/storyboarding Headphones or Earbuds SD card* - 4 Gb or larger / Class 4 or higher (dedicated to AV class)
Supplies *I will be purchasing SD from a company that sells SD cards in bulk. If you are interested in ordering a card -please email me ASAP so I will know how many cards to order. The cost will be between $5 - $6 depending on the number requested. If you need assistance with any of the required materials, please let me know as soon as possible.
