BHS MUSIC PLC REPORT! WINTER 2013 M u s i c PLC! Term/Trimester 1 - Batavia Music Rocks! SMART GOALS! ALL MUSIC STUDENTS COMMON ASSESSMENTS 100% of all students score an 85% or higher on all written grade-level common assessments.! CHOIR HS CURRICULUM By May 2014, 85% of all 9th grade students will be meeting the Grade Level Expectancies (GLEs) in SmartMusic.! ORCHESTRA HS CURRICULUM 90% of all high school orchestra students will score 85% of higher on all GLEs for Semester 1.! SEMESTER 2, 2013 5TH-12TH CURRICULUM 1) 85% of students will make one year s progress on their GLEs! 2) 85% of students will increase one performance grade level on their instrument! Everyone is working so hard at their musical craft to produce great concerts and learn great musical knowledge. In the high school, Chamber Orchestra has started off their season well while Marching Band concluded another successful year. Shrek is ready to open this week and shortly after, Swingsingers will be begin what is rue to be another great season. Legacy has been working hard from the beginning of school to be successful this school year. Jazz Bands begin the week before Thanksgiving be on the look out for Music Buffs Gala tickets soon! Finally, our annual Kaleidoscope Concert is coming on December 11th be sure to get your tickets early! In the middle and elementary schools, students are preparing diligently for the upcoming concerts in November and December. Recently, Project TRIO, a string and flute alternative trio came to perform for 500 young musicians at RMS as well as the Batavia Fine Arts Centre. Their unique musical style was shown to all who were fortunate enough to hear it.! Stay tuned for more great information about our wonderful Batavia Musicians!! ALL Ensemble Data We have slightly reworked out SMART Goals for this school year. Each music curricula has done it slightly differently, hence the slightly different SMART Goals you see on the left. However, the data from this term will act as a baseline for which to compare the progress in all the other terms. Stay tuned all school year to find out how hard our students have been working and what great music is happening in Batavia!! Band Data The District band directors have aligned two SMART Goals and will continue to report out the data collected throughout this school year. We are excited that students now can understand their performance grade level and will know what level they are performing at on their instrument.
