In addition to becoming familiar with the various musical forms and styles associated with these periods, you will also be introduced to the many historical roles music has played in society: shaping, expressing, and reflecting important social, economic, and political ideas critical to the development of western culture. MUS 325 includes a significant introductory music research and writing component and qualifies for I.2 of the General Education Framework.
