October holiday fun for all the family! CATHERINE WHEELS PRESENT: MARTHA For ages 4+ Tickets: 5.50/ 5/ 4 Family Tickets: 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children 15 Who is Martha? Martha lives by the sea Martha lives alone Martha doesn t need anyone She is stubborn, eccentric and highly independent. Who are Martha s friends? Not her next door neighbour. Not her helpful postman. Nor her secret admirer from across the bay. One day she has an unexpected visitor and for Martha life will never be the same again. TALL TREE THEATRE: LILY AND THE ALBATROSS For ages 5+ Tickets: 5.50/ 5/ 4 Family Tickets: 2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children 15 Far out in the wild and remote ocean there lives a girl and her family on an old fishing boat. While the whims of the water control the daily routines of their little community, Lily has a different perspective and finds herself gazing into the sky, where birds swim weightlessly above her head before stealing the precious fish from the fishing nets. Lily longs for more; more freedom, more excitement and more time out at sea but tradition and expectation holds these dreams just out of reach. Then one day a very special bird flies in from across the water, one which has travelled an inconceivable distance, one that makes Lily question everything and gives her the nudge she needs to truly stretch her wings. Children are invited to meet the puppets after the show and can play at the Tall Tree craft station. Wednesday 17th October 2pm McCosh Hall, Kirkmichael Thursday 18th October 2pm The Quay Zone, Girvan Friday 19th October 2pm Dalmellington Community Centre Saturday 20th October 2pm Fairlie Village Hall Friday 12th October 2pm Saturday 13th October 2pm Cumnock Town Hall

This poignant story follows Stan, George and Joe as enthusiastic pals who volunteer to join Kitchener s new army. Their experience of life on the Western Front is a stark contrast to what was promised by the officers signing them up: Back before Christmas, they said. Embarrassing medicals, French girls, lice, rats and shrapnel wait for them but their strong friendship and sense of humour will enable these pals to stick together through it all. Mark the centenary of the end of the First World War with this emotive piece of new writing.
