Train times Monday to Sunday Services between: Derby Crewe Stoke-on-Trent 5 Valid from 3rd September to 7th October 2018 This timetable replaces the East Midlands Trains Train times 5 timetable between the above dates on this route.

What are we doing? Between January and July: Derby Building a brand new 320 metre platform Between July and October: Replacing 17 kilometres of track Installing 79 new sets of points, 55 new signals and 9 new gantries 2

Hi Welcome to your timetable for journeys between Derby and Crewe during Derby Resignalling. Between 22nd July and 7th October, our partners at Network Rail will be delivering the biggest upgrade to the railway to and through Derby station for decades. It will improve the punctuality and performance of trains to, from and through Derby for years to come, but while the works are being carried out, it will mean some disruption and changes to your journeys. East Midlands Trains, CrossCountry and Network Rail are working in partnership to make sure you are kept fully informed about the work taking place and how it will affect you. This timetable covers the entire period of the works for journeys between Derby and Crewe, including replacement bus schedules. Separate timetables have also been produced for East Midlands Trains services between Nottingham and Matlock and on the Midland Main Line, as well as a CrossCountry timetable highlighting impacted services. It s an important part of our commitment to putting you first and helping you travel with confidence. The impact on journeys does change between 22nd July and 7th October, so please be sure to check the timetable applies to you especially if you don t travel every day. On behalf of East Midlands Trains, Network Rail and CrossCountry, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding while these upgrades are carried out. Jake Kelly East Midlands Trains Managing Director 3

Services between Derby and Crewe Trains to and from Derby will be heavily impacted by Derby Resignalling from 22nd July to 7th October. During this time, we are aiming to run as many trains as we can. However, when this is not possible, we will always provide a dedicated replacement bus or coach. This will affect trains between Derby and Crewe from 22nd July to 2nd September. Please be aware that between the above dates: An hourly East Midlands Trains service will still run between Tutbury & Hatton and Crewe (see the timetable pages for details of when these operate). Passengers travelling to Derby from all stations west of, and including, Uttoxeter will need to change onto a rail replacement service from Uttoxeter to Derby. This same change will need to be made for passengers travelling from Derby beyond Uttoxeter. On trains from Crewe, only passengers for Tutbury & Hatton should remain on the train after Uttoxeter. Please note that due to resources available, we kindly ask passengers who are changing between bus and train on their journey to do so at Uttoxeter, and not Tutbury & Hatton. Other train operators services between Crewe, Kidsgrove and Stoke-on-Trent will remain unaffected by the Derby Resignalling works. East Midlands Trains services between Derby and Crewe will begin to run as scheduled again from 3rd September. Please see the timetable pages for details of these services and dby2018.co.uk for further service information. 4

Replacement bus stops Some replacement buses/coaches are not able to pick up or drop off outside the station itself. We have provided maps and directions below for stations that will be running replacement buses on this route. Derby At the main entrance on Midland Road for services to Peartree, Tutbury & Hatton and Uttoxeter. Please note, rail replacement services to Matlock and Burton-on-Trent will also arrive/depart from the main entrance of the station. Rail replacement services to Nottingham, Long Eaton, Chesterfield and East Midlands Parkway will depart from the Pride Park entrance. Peartree Outside the station entrance for services towards Derby, or by the Showcase Cinema for services towards Uttoxeter. Please see map below for services from Peartree towards Uttoxeter: & X Tutbury & Hatton Outside the station, and at the bus stop opposite the Castle Hotel. Uttoxeter Next to the bus stop on Station Road. 5

Travelling by rail replacement Wherever possible, we aim to make sure you can take the same belongings on a rail replacement service as you would on a train. Bicycles Bicycles are permitted, but you may be required to put the bicycle either in the underneath luggage hold or on a following vehicle. You may find it quicker and more convenient if you leave your bicycle at home or at the station during this time. Folding bikes may also be easier for us to store on the buses or coaches. Many of our stations offer free cycle storage and we have secure, state-of-the-art cycle hubs at Sheffield, Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough. Pushchairs and prams Our coaches have plenty of underneath storage for pushchairs and prams, so please be aware that it is likely you ll be asked to place these in there for your journey. Food and drink Drinks should be in a covered cup or container to prevent spillages on our buses. Food is allowed, but we reserve the right to refuse travel to anyone with food which may leave a mess on the bus or impact other passengers. 6

Luggage You can bring three items of luggage onto our coaches. Two will go into the luggage hold and one must be able to fit under the seat in front of you. Animals Sight dogs are permitted on our vehicles, and other animals are welcome to board too, provided they are small and not affecting other customers journeys. Delay Repay We hate to be late as much as you do. Our Delay Repay scheme is an easy method of claiming compensation for delays of over 30 minutes against our advertised timetable for that particular day. For more information, visit: eastmidlandstrains.co.uk/ information/delay-repay or pick up a form from one of our manned stations. Travel assistance Every day we help people book tickets, and we also provide a free service for our older and disabled passengers to get on and off trains and around our stations. We will still be offering travel assistance on our replacement buses and coaches throughout the Derby Resignalling works. If you need some help on your journey, then please get in touch with us by phone on 08000 11 33 23, online at eastmidlandstrains.co.uk or Text Direct on 18001 08000 11 33 23. If you re able to get in touch with us at least 12 hours before your journey, then we can help ensure that one of our team will be available to help. Visit dby2018.co.uk for all the latest updates on Derby Resignalling, including information on all stations impacted by the works. 7

8 Are you travelling between Derby and Crewe on Saturday 28th or Sunday 29th July? Essential engineering work near Stoke-on-Trent means that your journey will be impacted, and we will not be able to run the advertised services within this timetable. There will be no East Midlands Trains services at all between Derby and Crewe on both days. East Midlands Trains will be running buses between Derby and Stoke-on-Trent in both directions. Passengers can connect to London Northwestern Railway services at Stoke-on-Trent for journeys to Longport, Kidsgrove, Alsager and Crewe. This connection will also be available on journeys from Crewe towards Derby. The final replacement bus service will run all the way between Derby and Crewe on both days in both directions. For a full replacement timetable for Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July, visit eastmidlandstrains.co.uk closer to your time of travel.
