Dear students and parents: Students registered for the AP Spanish Language and Culture class will need to have a basic understanding of the 6 themes that will be the basis for the class. The summer assignment is designed for students to increase their understanding and vocabulary of the 6 themes. Doing the assignment the correct way will allow the students to learn new vocabulary and slow the language down since all of the material will be authentic material. Below you will find directions on how to complete the assignment. For you to get full credit for the assignment you must follow the directions and complete the whole form. All assignments must be turned in on the first day of school, either in person or through Haiku (Haiku will not be set up until the week before school starts). Make sure that each audio/podcast and written text entry is on one of the main AP themes: las identidades personales, la vida contemporánea, los desafíos mundiales, las familias y las comunidades, la belleza y la estética, o la ciencia y la tecnología. You should be able to do 2 noticias every week. You will be given which theme to use each week. 2. Each article or audio should be about something going on in a Spanish Speaking country. You must read or listed to each one of the articles or audios and then fill in the form below with the information required. 3. All of these activities are to be done every week during the summer. Starting on June 6 ending on August 24. 4. All of the activities will be graded for effort and language use. This activity is meant to increase your vocabulary and keep you in touch with the target language. It s very important that you do the assignment as required for you to get the full benefit. 5.
