Before you fill out this packet and decide to audition, be sure to read the schedule and policy contract. The schedule and contract will be strictly adhered to during the rehearsal process and the performance. If you agree to the terms, proceed. 2. ALL information must be filled out in order to audition for any role. You will NOT be allowed to audition if the packet is incomplete. The policy contract must be signed by you and the parent listed as the main contact. A picture must be affixed to the general information form. 3. Sign- Up for your audition. Sign-up sheets are located on the Drama Board outside B100 at Main and on the door outside J205 at Gold. Please arrive promptly and prepared. Prepare a memorized 30-60 second monologue for your audition. If you plan to audition for the role of the little mermaid: Prepare a memorized 30-60 second song for your audition. (*You will find more information on this requirement later in the packet.) Accompanists are not required and are not necessary. Dance Auditions: This will be a group audition. Come prepared to dance (warm-up/stretch prior to the start time). VOCAL AUDITION INFORMATION ***For those students auditioning for the role of the little mermaid*** If you are interested in auditioning for the role of the little mermaid you need to prepare 60 seconds of ONE of the following songs. You will sing this song IN ADDITION TO your monologue. You will sing this song without accompaniment. You can find ample information about ALL of these songs on the internet (see youtube)! NVHS Theatre Department Policies Attendance 1. Cast members are expected to attend full rehearsals every day. 2. Cast members are only allowed to miss three (3) rehearsals. Saturday rehearsals count as two (2) missed rehearsals. Mandatory rehearsals cannot be missed for any reason. 3. The director MUST be notified prior to the absence in order for it to be considered an excused absence. 4. Two (2) full weeks prior to performance, ALL rehearsals are mandatory. See calendar for mandatory rehearsals. 5. If a cast member misses more than three (3) rehearsals or misses mandatory rehearsals, he or she may be dropped from the show. Please try to schedule all lessons, doctor s appointments, vacations, extracurriculars, etc. after rehearsal is over. The Theatre Department realizes that circumstances do arise that are out of the control of the cast member and his or her family s control. These circumstances will be addressed on a case by case basis but still may result in the cast member s release from the show. Behavior/Grades 1. All cast members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner at all times. This includes on stage, off stage, and during regular school hours. Conduct not befitting an NVHS Theater student will not be tolerated and may result in the release from the show. 2. All cast members must be passing 5 classes in order to be eligible to audition, rehearse, and/or perform in the production. Rental Policy 1. All cast members receive a dialogue book and/or vocal score for rehearsal purposes. These books are the property of the NVHS Theatre Department. These books MUST be returned to the Theatre department by the due date. (See calendar). Lost or damaged books will result in a fine of $25 each.
