Auditions are being held on: Saturday, June 23, 2018 & Sunday, June 24, 2018 Keep this page! You are expected to prepare a song and a short (1 to 2 minute) audition piece. This piece can be a part of a scene, a story, a poem, or a monologue. We will also want to have a chat with you and may ask you to read from the script or to present your audition piece in a different way. We may also ask to take a casual photo so that we can better relate names to faces; these photos will be deleted when the project is complete. The next two pages need to be filled out and brought with you to your audition. The first is your contact information and experience or training you may have. The second is information about the rehearsal and performance schedule which you will need to fill out carefully, make sure it is signed and bring it with you to your audition. Young Company FAQ s : Is there a charge to be in The Young Company? No charge! Where are the rehearsals and the performances? All of the rehearsals will be at SFT, either onstage or in Burrell Hall How old do I need to be to audition? For this production we are looking for kids between 10 and 18 years old. Do I have to have an audition piece ready? Yes. Please have a song and a one to two minute audition piece (monologue or spoken word piece) ready. We will not be timing it so don t worry if it is a bit shorter or longer. You will need to bring a CD with backing tracks, sing a cappella or have a track on a phone. Will I have to buy costumes or make-up? You may be asked to provide a few small things that you probably already have at home (Shoes, etc.), but we will provide you with any costumes or make-up specific to your role. What if I have an emergency and have to miss rehearsal? We make exceptions for emergencies, bad weather, illness etc. but other than those extreme circumstances, you cannot unexpectedly miss rehearsal or, of course, a performance!! Any other questions? Performing Experience:
PERFORMANCE CONTRACT Other than the dates indicated, we guarantee that (Name of audition candidate) will be available for all rehearsal and performances. We understand that our child may be asked to participate in promotional activities that promote this show, the Stirling Festival Theatre, the SFT Young Company, and give permission for picture and video images to be taken for these purposes. Additionally, I understand that my child is expected to arrive promptly and prepared for rehearsal and will be expected to exhibit good behavior and a positive attitude throughout the production process.
