LCD09 Y-Volution Flicker Lift is being updated to new Y-Volution Flyer video content and receiving new POP on the next cycle. 4. LCD10 Hot Wheels is being updated to new Hot Wheels video content mashup showing Hot Wheels Ai, Criss Cross Crash, Star Wars Car Ships, Track Builder, Sky Shock, and Fusion Factory. 5. LCD14 Barbie is being updated to the new Barbie Dream House video content. IF NOT COMPLETED ON PREVOUS TASK: Update LCD04 Hasbro with the NEW Hasbro 2 Bop It & Simon Air video content. Example of Display Example of Display 5 Check ALL LCD DISPLAYS and make sure they are FUNCTIONING. The PURPOSE of this visit is to get EVERY LCD Display fully operational and showing the CORRECT video content. If you have displays which are malfunctioning, you MUST follow troubleshooting steps. 6 Report any issues with displays you are not able to resolve and any parts needed for displays we service that are on the Toys R Us Floorplan. Check for Loose and boxed LCD monitors and display parts in the backroom. Ask manager on duty if they know of any additional locations of stored LCD s. There could be some LCD monitors in the loading zone, backroom or visual collateral bay. If you have found extra displays in your store, check them to see if they ARE WORKING REPLACE ANY MISSING DISPLAYS ON THE SALESFLOOR WITH DISPLAYS YOU HAVE FOUND IN THE STORE. IF YOU HAVE OTHER STORES WHICH ARE MISSING DISPLAYS OR PARTS; USE THE EXTRA ITEMS YOU FIND IN THE CURRENT STORE TO SERVICE THE OTHER STORES. 7 8 AFTER servicing ALL LCD Displays, audit to see how many Display are present in-store and if there are any that are missing. Walk the store and check for the following: 1. Audit for final count of LCD s in BACKROOM 2. Audit for final count of LCD s on SALESFLOOR Take a photo of each LCD display after servicing. Make sure that each picture is of the full display. Photos of ALL LCD Displays is a MANDATORY REQUIREMENT. Answers are compared to the pictures. POP and content are verified
INSTALLING LCD SCREEN & BRACKET 1) Check store map for location where to place LCD Screen. Move product aside with help from the store to create an open spot for the LCD screen. Mount the LCD Screen to the back brace of the bracket assembly using 4 screws. Secure LCD back brace on 4 hard points using screws. 2) Fasten the base of the bracket to the shelf. Hard points are located on the bottom of the frame and stabilizing arm. Bottom of Frame Fasten Screws Stabilizing Arm 3) Run the power brick from an open outlet to the LCD screen on the gondola. 4) If you need to replace the SD Card, remove control panel cover on the LCD Screen by removing the screws. 5) Disconnect old SD Card and replace with new SD Card. Make sure you hear an audible click to secure it. Disconnect OLD SD Card Replace with NEW SD Card Remove Control Panel Cover 6) Place POP into the slider on the Bracket. Cover the back of the display with the cortex tunnel.
TOYS R US LCD MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOR COMMON ISSUES Knowing the Different Types of Screens There are currently THREE different types of LCD Monitors you can encounter at your store. You can see the distinguishing marks, as well as know the capabilities and function each LCD Monitor type. These three monitor types can be categorized under two main categories; Standard LCD and Touchscreen LCD. YOU CANNOT LOAD STANDARD LCD CONTENT ONTO A TOUCHSCREEN, THIS WILL CAUSE A ROOT ERROR. ONLY USE TOUCHSCREEN CONTENT FOR TOUCHSCREEN LCD. THESE DISPLAYS ARE LCD08 YVOLUTION AND LCD18 SMART TOY. TOYS R US LCD MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOR COMMON ISSUES No Signal Issue/Blank or Black Screen DESCRIPTION: White bar at the bottom of screen or a moving No Signal Message 1. Change LCD Input setting by clicking the INPUT button on a standard LCD and change to DMP. For Touchscreen LCD s click the VGA button and cycle through the options available. 2. Check SD Card. It must be secured tightly in the SD Card reader. You will hear the lock engage with a click. 3. Perform Factory Reset (Page 7) Input Button on Standard LCD Input Button on Touchscreen LCD Video Play Errors: Unsupported File or Root Error DESCRIPTION: LCD shows menu with Unsupported File Alert or ROOT OUTFORM error 1. Check power cable if it is being pressed by any product. This can cause the power to drop on the LCD resulting in a bad LCD Screen reload/restart. 2. Check SD Card. It must be secured tightly in the SD Card reader. You will hear the lock engage with a click. 3. Make sure you have loaded the video content correctly onto your USB device from computer. Carefully follow instructions provided in the Video Content Archive for either MAC or Windows based computers. For windows based computers, you MUST use the ISO to USB program. You can only load ONE content type per USB device. Restart the program after each use. 4. Perform power cycle on LCD. 5. Ensure you are using the correct screen. You CANNOT use a Touchscreen LD for regular content. 6. Perform Factory Reset
HOW TO: FACTORY RESET How to Perform Factory Reset on Standard LCD DESCRIPTION: Perform if you continue to have issues with screen content not Starting Automatically, Freezing after short playtime, unsupported File errors, Root errors or Sound Issues. 1. Click the Menu button on the control panel on a standard LCD. 2. Use Vol + to scroll to option menu. 3. Use Vol to scroll down the menu. 4. Highlight the Restore Factory Defaults 5. Click the Input button after highlighting the Restore Factory Defaults setting. How to Perform Factory Reset on Touchscreen LCD DESCRIPTION: Perform if you continue to have issues with screen content not Starting Automatically, Freezing after short playtime, unsupported File errors, Root errors or Sound Issues. 1. If you can locate the Rocket Production display Remote, WHILE CONTENT IS DISPLAYED, Select STOP on remote. 2. Click Setup on remote, this will take you to the SETUP MENU 3. Select PREFERENCES, go to DEFAULTS and enable FACTORY SET 4. Make sure AUTO PLAY is set to ON 1 2 3
DESCRIPTION: Load Content from USB Device to LCD Screen HOW TO: SERVICE DISPLAY CONTENT LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK 1. Locate the LCD Screen that needs the content updated on your TRU Floor Plan. 2. The objective is to install new video content onto the LCD screen(s) that are not showing the video. 3. On the left side of the LCD monitor, you will need to remove the side panel signage and cortex cover over the LCD monitor to get to the USB port located on the side of the LCD. Remove the left side TRU branded signage. These are held on with white clips. 4. Next you will need to remove the screws from the side panel of the LCD to get to the USB port. 5. Using the Philips head screwdriver, remove the screws from the side panel. 6. The USB port will now be exposed. 7. Unplug the LCD monitor and put the CAST USB stick with correct video content into the USB port. 8. Plug the LCD monitor back in. 9. The video will begin to update automatically. Wait until the process is finished and replace the cover after removing the USB drive. A B C D
9. The video content should start uploading and may take a few minutes. 10. Once the video content has uploaded, verify that the correct video is playing. 11. Unplug the CAST USB stick and screw the USB cover back onto the LCD monitor. 12. Place cortex cover and side panel back on the display. 13. Please take a photo of the full display with store # and picture code in the photo. Video content uploading to the LCD monitor. SD Card Swap DESCRIPTION: How to change out the SD Card with a new SD Card. 1. You will need to remove the screws from the right side panel of the LCD monitor to get to the SD Card port. 2. Using the Philips head screwdriver, remove the screws from the side panel. 3. Remove the SD card from the LCD. A B C D
HOW TO: TROUBLESHOOT POWER ACCESS ISSUES Locating Power Source DESCRIPTION: If Monitor does not display/has Black screen, determine if this is an LCD Screen issue or Power Outlet Issue. 1. Test existing power outlet with phone charger. If working, there can be a problem with the LCD. 2. If power does not work, check around the display for other outlets on the gondola which could be working. 3. If there is no power on any of these outlets, report your findings to the store manager. IF THE POWER OUTLET DOES NOT WORK, REPORT THE POWER ELECTRICAL ISSUES TO THE MANAGER.
