The ensembles and duets are beautiful, filled with emotion and mystery. Emerging choreographer Amy Seiwert is gaining national renown for her surprising, remarkable work that expands the definition of ballet. Through masterful and courageous ideas and images, she creates dances of honesty and emotion. George Balanchine s The Four Temperaments is pure energy. Created in 1946, the ballet s intricate footwork and spectacular solos remain as fresh and exciting for audiences as ever. The Still Point is one of Todd Bolender s most revered ballets. The Amy Seiwert world premiere is a co-commission of Kansas City Ballet and the Performing Arts Series at Johnson County Community College for the New Dance Partners Project.
