MAIN ATTRACTIONS Main Attractions What main films will play at the Hiway? Predicting in advance what films will play at our beloved one-screen Hiway is the biggest challenge that we face. It is very hard to know ahead of time. The films listed here are an educated guess. Our website is always the best place to get up-to-the-minute information. Scheduling our main films is weekto-week. On Monday, we decide what main film will play starting that Friday. On Tuesday and Wednesday, we set the showtimes for the upcoming week and then update our website and telephone hotline. We also send out a weekly email (sign up at our website). Sometimes, we book a main film a few weeks in advance, which we post on our website. For our latest Main Attractions plans, visit: HiwayTheater.org. (Or call our Hotline at 267-864-0065) Loving Fences USA - Denzel Washington Denzel Washington directed and stars in this adaptation of August Wilson s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama. Set in the 1950 s, an African-American father struggles with the pressure of raising his family during the social and political tensions of the day. Washington and Viola Davis reprise their stage roles from the 2010 Tony Award-winning revival of the play, which Washington also directed. Lion Australia - Garth Davis - 2 hr A young Indian boy becomes lost in the busy streets of Calcutta, separated from his family. He is then adopted by an Australian couple. Years later, he is determined to find his relatives. This crowd-pleasing drama is emotional and fulfilling. Starring Dev Patel and Sunny Pawar. Also with Rooney Mara and Nicole Kidman. Jackie USA - Pablo Larrain - 1 hr 40 min This extraordinary work of art is about Jackie Kennedy, as well as history, storytelling, and grief. The film follows the First Lady in the days following the JFK assassination as she struggles with the trauma and attempts to define her husband s legacy. Natalie Portman gives an astonishing, transformative performance. With an excellent cast including Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig, John Hurt, and Billy Crudup and a stunning score by Mica Levi.

2016 ANNUAL APPEAL Support the Hiway Dear Friends of the Hiway Theater, Thank you for your help in maintaining the historic Hiway Theater. Your support allows us to bring great films to the theater and to partner with the Ambler Theater for more programming options. Our 100+ year-old building is still in need of some significant repairs and upgrades. Your past support has allowed us to replace the fire system, boiler, and many inefficient windows in the past year. Our next necessary project is the replacement of the HVAC system, which is several years past its useful life and has been increasingly unreliable. Please consider making a tax-deductible Gift to help maintain the Hiway. Your support allows us to continue to keep this cultural treasure safe and sound. It helps us to provide a comfortable and welcoming venue for the entire community.
