LOGLINE April returns after travelling abroad and unearths buried family secrets in her mother's backyard that threaten the harmony of home. SYNOPSIS April returns home to Toronto after travelling and working abroad for several years to help her sister Sara care for their mother. Upon April's return, she lunearths old family secrets in the backyard that threaten the gentle balance of home. Sara, who is studying the music of French composer Erik Satie, befriends a homeless man Erik who may have a connection to her mother s romantic past, while April equivocates on a marriage proposal from her long distance boyfriend whom she met on her travels. The story culminates on the eve of their mother's birthday dinner, when April s boyfriend arrives unannounced from Argentina and Sara s homeless friend shows up for the celebration.

The film is targeted for 2018 world film festivals and theatrical distribution/digital sales late 2018. April in Autumn has been invited to screen in Telefilm Canada s Perspective Canada - Cannes series, at the Cannes Film Festival Marche du Film, 2018, for its Industry World Premiere.

Caitlyn Sponheimer as April / CO-PRODUCER Caitlyn Sponheimer is Toronto and Montreal-based Actor and Screenwriter. A graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC, she writes, develops scripts for, and acts in film, theatre, and TV. She is Writing and Directing a project produced by Evren Boisjoli of Achromatic Media Inc. Elizabeth Stuart-Morris as Sarah / CO-PRODUCER Elizabeth Stuart-Morris is an Actor and Producer in Toronto. A graduate of the University of Toronto, Sheridan College, and WIFT and Humber College's Media Business Essentials Program, she continues to develop and produce scripted and documentary films under her production company,esmcreative. as Mark / DIRECTOR has directed and produced over 250 hours of Canadian and US television, such as the half hour drama Surrender and hit television series Love By Design. DIRECTOR, is a Gemini-nominated (Canada s Emmy) producer, director, writer, actor and visual artist working in national and international film, television and theatre.\ His creative career highlights include on-going gallery exhibitions of his visual artwork; professionally directing, writing and acting in theatre in Canada and internationally since 1976; writer-in-residence at the Factory Theatre and Blyth Theatre Festival; a company member of Robert Lepage s Theatre Ex Machina for productions in Glasgow, Scotland and the National Theatre, London, England; dramatic narrative films for Showcase Television and YTV and officially screened at Canadian film festivals; starred and produced in the off-broadway US premiere hit of Canadian play Trout Stanley ; an alumni of the Directors Lab at Lincoln Centre, New York, and Directors Lab West at the Pasadena Playhouse, Calif. He was Artistic Director of the Theatre Centre in Toronto from 1990-93 and from 2004 to 2008 was Artistic Director of Renaissant Workshop, an interdisciplinary theatre and visual arts space in Soho, Manhattan. Warren has written, produced and directed over 250 hours of television programming for many major Canadian and US broadcasters. He has received awards and grants for his writing and creative projects from Telefilm Canada, The Canada Council, Alberta Films, Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, The Toronto Arts Council, OMDC, National Film Board and the Laidlaw Foundation among others. Warren studied film and television production at SAIT (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology),Calgary, Alberta; visual art and photography at The School for Visual Arts and the Arts Student League, both in New York and the Toronto School for Arts; theatre at the National Theatre School of Canada; literature (BA) from University of Alberta and screenwriting at UCLA. CINEMATOGRAPHER, Wes Legge Wes Legge is a Toronto-based Cinematographer in both scripted and documentary film. Over the past 10 years his work has brought him to 30 countries on six continents, allowing him to share in inclusive storytelling. It has contributed to his ever evolving visual cinematic range and style CO-PRODUCER/COMPOSER, is a Toronto-based Producer, Composer, and a graduate from the University of Toronto s Faculty of Music. She has composed scores for several different short films, both animated and live action. Recently, she has Produced short films, video art installations, and continues to work on her own creative projects. SOUND RECORDIST, Dave Drapper David Draper is a Toronto based Sound recordist who works world-wide in all genres of film, television and music. He has traveled throughout the world on Documentary projects, and works on Commercial and Drama productions closer to home while in Toronto.
